How to dress up your fridge!

Does anyone else have a fridge problem?  Too many kitchy  magnets?  Notes stuck all over?

Mine  is a good mix of magnets, notes, lists and recipes.  I hate it.  It looks....motherly.  LOL

I am determined to make my fridge look better....classier.  At least less cluttered.

Here are some fun ideas for things you can use your stash to make for your fridge:
Personalized Photo Magnets
Spring Magnets
Fabric Magnet Set
Make your own Notepads
Menu Board (could put on fridge)

And now for my FAVORITE FIND!
Check out this blog!   Lots of fun things to look at, great things to order and even downloads!

Now go to THIS post...scroll down...scroll down...STOP!  Do you see the refridgerator list project by Kinseygirl?  Do you?  Isn't that AWESOME?  Now I would want to do things around the house if I could play with that pretty list.

How are you going to dress up YOUR fridge?  Or am I just nuts here?  LOL

Master Forger's Gallery Standout Challenge

Guest Designer: Helen
I loved this challenge - after all it involved spending time mooching around on the internet looking for inspiration, something I might just possibly enjoy doing! Being a UK girl I ended up choosing UKScrappers and the wk12 ScrapFactor contest in particular. The talented Jimjams was a great contestant in ScrapFactor and you can see her take on this challenge here - Jim Jams

The challenge was called 1-2-3 - 1 black card stock as a background, 2 photos and 3 patterned papers. One of the contestants (Sutty) had used strawberries on her LO and I'd put fabric strawberries in my kit and had black card stock in my add on kit, so it seemed a good fit. Here's Sutty's layout -UK Scrappers

I managed to follow the challenge except I chose to use 1 photo. I used the fabric flowers and fruit, some of the homemade banners, and ribbon and trims from my kit - in fact everything is from the kit! I'm really pleased with how it turned out - I'd never have used black as a background without this for inspiration, but I will definitely use this technique again. Master Forger's Embossing Challenge

Guest Designer: Helen

This was a great challenge because it's something I never do on a layout so it pushed me to do something different. I love stamping, but tend to do it on embellishments or cards - so here I tried doing it on the layout itself. The results were hard to photograph - here's hoping that you can see!

First I've used a watermark pen and clear embossing powder to highlight the lines of white dots on the wave paper and the swirls on the green. I have then used an Anna Griffin swirl stamp to recreate the water splashes from the photos. I stamped over the top of the papers and tags and embossed with more clear embossing powder. I really like the way that the glossy embossing changes the colour of the papers and it's always good to get more use out of those stamps!

There are some close-up photos over on my blog if you want to see more http://craftimperfect.blogspot.com/. Can't wait to see all the great ideas from everyone else!

  • Learn how to create white text in a word processing program in this tutorial.  Creating White Text
  • A free digital set of journaling tags with white text is found here. Journaling Tag Download
  • The "Smash Page Tabs" would work great in place of the tabs on this sticker sheet.  Free Prinitable Tabs

Tutorial- "Creative" Mini Banners

So mini banners have been "all the rage", maybe some scrapbookers think they are getting old and going out of style...but I still LOVE them and use them often. There is a mini banner alphabet sticker set in this month's inspiration kit. So I was thinking I would share some ideas and mini banners I have seen that use shapes other than the typical triangle pennants.

My first idea, I don't have a photo of...I bought a "paper doll clothing" die for my OLD Sizzix on clearance last year and thought I could use it to cut fabric and make mini "clothesline" banners on layouts.

Basically, mini banners can be made from any type of punch...hearts, snowflakes, flowers, butterflies, scalloped circles or squares, the possibilities are endless!   If you have any other unique mini banner ideas, post them here...we would LOVE to hear them!
