Been Caught Stealing: Kate Blue
Let's say a big HI to our Guest Designer for April!
Hey everybody! I'm Kate Blue, originally a military brat but have called the wonderful state of Maryland "home" for the last 28 years. In my previous life, I was an accountant but am now a SAHM to my favorite scrappy subjects- a girl and a boy that I call Thing 1 & Thing 2 and wife to my guy of 16 years who is Thing 3. I began scrapbooking quite late in the game since I never considered myself artsy or crafty EVER! So for the last 6 years, I a
have dabbled in layouts, mini albums and some altered projects-I do admit that I cannot make cards to save my life no matter how hard I try!
I'm not sure what my style is called but I do know that I am drawn to bold colors and eclectic mixes of prints and manufacturers, I love kraft backgrounds and lots of bling! I think that matching and pastels are out of my comfort zone! I'm excited that the ladies asked me to be the April Guest Designer for CKCB and I hope to inspire your creativity in some small way this month! Happy scrapping and can't wait to see YOUR kits and creations!

Trash to Treasure
Well life got in the way this month so let's do something different. YOU tell ME how you use up your SCRAPS! We all have them, how do you use them up? Do you store them, save them, or just recycle them? Do you go ahead and make a card or other project once you are done with one project with them? Inspire me to use my mountain of scraps!

Step by Step
I have some happy news! My scrapbook room is completely torn apart still! I have a brand new floor...my desk has been painted to match the scrapbook furniture that is coming at the end of the month..and now I wait. I am planning on purging a BUNCH of stuff while I wait. Yep. Even my stamps.
I can't wait to post photos for you!
I found this great Scrapper on Youtube...KraftyBuns. I usually love dialogue in the videos I watch, but I really like her process. Enjoy!

Roller Date Stamp and DIY Thickers TUTORIALS
So today I am here to share some inspiration on using DIY Thickers and roller date stamps. So here we go.
DIY thickers can mean a great deal of things, here is a video that shows the ones you can BUY :
DIY THICKERS VIDEO
VIDEO FROM PAPERCLIPPING
Also something I do occassionally if I cannot find the correct font, I cut some with my die cut machine (or you could hand draw and cut out with scissors) multiple times and then clue them together in a stack. You can then ink, mist, flock, glitter, and even emboss them (if you keep them thin enough). There you go custom alphabet/title.
Now Roller Date Stamps are taking the industry by storm lately. Now there is the obvious use of using them for the date of the picture or the journaling but you there are a few more ways to use them also. They now come with cute phrases, some arrows etc. So why not stamp them around your journal space/card to make a border like this:
Also here is a gallery over at Studio Calico that I stumbled on that has MANY uses of these neat little things. Enjoy! CLICK HERE
They are also great in "smashing" and Project life to label, add captions, highlight and date things. What else do YOU use them for if they are in your stash?
