Have you seen this? Mod Melts and Mod Molds

So, I stumbled across these...

Have you seen them before?  How cool is this?  I have the apoxy stuff and molds, but they are a bit tricky to get used to.  Basically I stink at them.  LOL

Here are some fun things you can do with them, outside of scrapbook embellishments:  She's {kinda} Crafty: Mason Jar Jewlery...scroll down for even more Mod Fun!

I did pick some up (I already own some silicone molds) and tried it out.  They took more time to figure out then I thought.  You will need a High Temp Glue Gun and I would highly recommend using a fine tip nozzle one (I found mine at JoAnns.)  It made it easier to get into the cracks and crevices.

So in my quest to figure these out, I have found that you can make your own molds using Hot Glue.

Who knew?  I have been making some of my own molds with mold putty.  I might give this a try.

If you don't want to mess with Mod Podge Melts...I have found a way to counterfeit them!  Whoohoo!

You can use HOT GLUE.  Yep.  Regular, cheaper than Mod Melts Hot Glue.  Ha!  And if you can find the colored glue sticks or the glitter ones?  Well, score!

Have you made any new scrappy discoveries lately?

I love the smell of paper in the morning...

One of my favorite types of happy mail used to be Scrapbook Magazines!  I love the inspiration and curling up in a cozy chair with some coffee and reading from cover to cover.

Scrapbook Answers, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks Etc...all magazines I used to subscribe to.  Times,  however, are changing.  Many magazines have shutdown due to the economy and those that are left are  moving in the digital direction.  Now, I do own a Kindle Fire and love my computer time, but I really love books.  Holding them, turning the pages, smelling them...I miss paper!  It looks like I will need to get on board with the digital subscriptions or lose them altogether.

Here are some creative magazines that just might make the transition a bit easier. (Some of them are even FREE!)

CKCB Members' Blog Hop

We're quite low on numbers for the Members' Blog Hop this month.

Frog feeling blue
Source

It's really easy and open to EVERYone - we don't vet entries or pick participants - if you want to join in, you're in - it's YOUR hop!

This month we're scraplifting the Master Forgers as per Challenge #1 - just pick a project, take inspiration from it and post it on your blog on the 24th (along with a link to your original inspiration).

I'll extend the deadline for sign-ups until July 19th ... if you fancy it, just let us know by emailing us ... then get creative - there's still plenty of time to complete your project and get it ready to post for July 24h.

Challenge #3: My Favorite Place

If you could be ANYWHERE in the world right now...where would you be?

Is your destination far away?

Or a bit closer to home?

Challenge #3:  Let's have a bit of fun and dream about the perfect place to be.  Use that place to inspire your next project.  You can do an actual layout about that place or simply use the feel of it for inspiration.

Care to see where our Master Forgers would like to be right now?

AMAZING Paper Counterfeit!

I was browsing on 2 peas and came across a thread about saving money by counterfeiting things.  One of the thread participants mentioned that she had wanted to buy a paper collection, but saved money because she made her own copy of the paper.  I took at peek at what Isbaha did and WOW WOW WOW!

You are seriously in for a treat!

You can thank me now.  LOL

Hey... I can make THAT!

July Tutorials

Welcome to "Hey...I can make THAT!"  A monthly post to help you truly counterfeit many of the components of the current month's kit.  No need to go out and purchase...just use the supplies you already have to create some of the freshest and trendiest products out there.  Here you will find links to our amazing design team members' blogs and/or links to other craft sites on the web showing how to make these amazing products.

By now I'm sure you've had the chance to play around with this inspiration kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today.  It just screams "Summer Fun" and that's good because that's its name!

If you haven't started counterfeiting yet, you still have plenty of time to get going.  Check out the July Reveal post here to find out all the ins and outs.
Have you found your "angle"?  Are you going for a direct copy or are you going "rogue" and running off in your own direction?  Or, if you've already assembled your kit, you may want to fill in some gaps with some of these fun products you may not have by making your own.

First up, we have those fantastic black and white Thickers.  Several of your Master Forgers have given them a try.  Whether it's using a Cricut, some old chipboard letters or even some stamps, you are sure to find a way to make them with what you have in your stash.

Here's a link to Lynnette's version plus a close-up look at the way she copied the Glitz Bits and Pieces paper.

And here's a link to Lisa's version (as well as several other easy counterfeits of a few of the kit items):

Next we have some paper counterfeits.  One of our new design team members Leslie, created a variety of knock-off papers from the kit.  She is a pro at creating true-to-life, honest-to-goodness replicas of the real deal.  Here's just a teaser of one of her creations:

Simple Stories Urban Traveler
Leslie's version!  Wow, I'm impressed!

Check out her reveal post here where she shows you this and many other counterfeits that will amaze you!

The other Lesley (another awesome newbie to CKC) has created a tutorial over on her blog to create Bingo Cards using Microsoft Word

- why not pop over and try it out...

Check out Ashley's fresh take on those bright clothes pins.  I love that our new design team members are showing off their stuff!

Ashley says...Recreating the Pebbles Mini Clothes Pins from the inspiration kit is a breeze. All you need is Mini Clothes Pins and Fingernail polish. It does take a couple of coats for the colors to come through bright, but this way you can customize them according to your page!   Check out her blog here to learn more about how she recreated these Elle Studio labels.
I mean who couldn't use more of these in her stash!

So, what are you waiting for?  Go get busy and build MORE stash from your stash!  Be sure to link up your creations on our July Mr. Linky so we can ooooo and ahhhhhh and say, "WOW, it's so cool that you made THAT!"

Hi there I'm Laura a SAHM to 3 gorgeous boys who feature heavily in my pages.   I have been crafting for 15+ years and have had a dabble with most crafts.  I finally started scrapbooking 6 years ago after ordering a kit off the TV.  I am a HUGE paper addict who can't stop buying.  I am always looking for different ways to use my stash so the Counterfeit Challenge helps me.   I am honoured to have been asked to be a guest designer this month I hope you are inspired with what you see. x x

Visit Laura over at her BLOG and get to know her a bit more!

Now you can start getting some inspiration for your kit from Laura and our Master Forgers!  Hop through each link to see their interpretation of the kit!

Leslie  http://lcsmithsaved-outofthemire.blogspot.com

Believe it or not, I actually pulled off making a kit this time around.  GO ME!  Here is a peek at it, since posting on multiple blogs is a bit much for me right now.  LOL

I call it...I finally finished a kit!  Good title, no?

I hope you have a great time this month!  Let's make Mr. Linky EXPLODE!

I found this great summer time stamp that I am looking to find a home for!

To win this stamp, all you need to do is:
1.  Post here that you would like it.
2.  Post projects to Mr. Linky this month...each project posted will be one entry.

**I am happy to ship internationally...I might need someone to walk me through the process, if it is very different, though.

Good luck!
