Member's Blog Hop!

This year we have mixed it up a bit and instead of us picking one challenge for the blog  hop, we are opening up all THREE challenges to be used in the hop!  All you have to do is pick one of our challenges, create a project and then make a blog post that we can link up for our hop!  Make sure that your project is a NEW one for our hop!

We have a fun group this month ready to get their hop on!

We have the complete list here in case you get lost or can't hop all at once.  Click on the first link and see their fantastic project!  They will then link to the next person on the list!  Don't forget to say "thanks" to each of them for their fabulous inspiration!

Have fun ... why not join in yourself next month ... everyone is welcome :-)

Scrapbook Hoarders…a confession

I am posting this because I LOVE her and think she is brilliant!  If only we could all be this honest.

So let's not hoard today.  Let's use it up!

Inspired?... You will be!

A trend that's been around for quite some time is adding pie-charts to your layouts and there are lots of examples around of self-made - and therefore simple to counterfeit - ways to incorporate them onto your pages.

Let's start with a few page examples that I found - and love...

Source: Celine Navarro at Two Peas

Source: Marcy Penner at October Afternoon

Source: Ashely Horton at Two Peas in a Bucket

Ashley uses the Two Peas digital cut files for hers but keep reading to the end of the post to see how you can create your own counterfeit cut files courtesy of our very own digital Queen, Angela.

Source: Amy Tan

Amy also shows you how she made up here pie chart (click the source link above)

Which brings me to tutorials. There are a lot of those around too, for example these couple...

Tutorial found at Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine (source here)

Tutorial from Epiphany Crafts (source here)
And if that wasn't enough inspiration, Debbie Hodge provides us with more ideas over at Get It Scrapped.

As promised, I'm going to leave you with a reminder of the tutorial our very own Digital Whizz Kid, Angela, created for us on her blog back in November for how to create your very own digital pie-chart cut files. Now that I have a Silhouette on the way (hope to receive it soon!), I know that I'll be checking this out again. Angela makes it look so easy and she assures me it is!

If you've been inspired to create a pie-chart page element or design on your page using your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit, don't forget to share it over at our Mr Linky.  We'd love to see where the inspiration takes you.

January Member Blog Hop Reminder

This is just a reminder that we are looking for YOU to come and join in on our monthly member blog hop.

This is always a whole lot of fun and a chance for you to show off your amazing creations with your Counterfeit Kits.

So.... if you have created a project using your Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit for any of this month's three challenges and have NOT posted it on your blog before, we would love for you to join in our member blog hop and share your creations
  1. Challenge #1 Subway Art - Use the subway art technique (using different colors/fonts in a block of writing like a title or journaling)
  2. Challenge #2 Container Challenge -  stamp it, die cut it, draw it…use a container somewhere on your project!
  3. Challenge #3 Stamp On Patterned Paper Challenge -  Stamping on plain paper is easy.  Stamping on Patterned Paper takes guts!  Let's see how gutsy we can get with some stamping!

We LOVE it when you share so come on, join in on the hop and inspire us all.

Here is how it will work:

January Challenge #3: Stampin' Challenge

If it holds still long enough I JUST might stamp on it.  And I have *ahem* added quite a few of those lovely scrapbook tools to my collection in the last few months.  My latest obsessions?  Paper Trey Ink, The Greeting Farm, There She Goes and October Afternoon.  I need to break those puppies out and put them to use!

Challenge #3: Stamp On Patterned Paper Challenge.  Stamping on plain paper is easy.  Stamping on Patterned Paper takes guts!  Let's see how gutsy we can get with some stamping!
LesleyG made a birthday card for her daughter.

The full card can be seen HERE

Stephanie was inspired by Andy Warhol pop art and used 3 different stamp sets, including an Audrey Hepburn stamp by Deep Red Stamps, to create her card -

Jemma's been stamping on paper and card (as well as doodling and glittering):

Leslie used one of her forged papers to create some page embellis

January Challenge #2: Container Challenge

I am a bit obsessed with containers.  Baskets, crates, jars, drawers…I love them all and fill them up as quickly as I can.  LOL  Lately I have been finding creative containers to help me display some of my stash so I can use it up.

Here are some fun examples that I found online!

All of the above photos are of ONE scrap room.  And I think I want her to be my new best friend!  Head over to Kendra McCracken's Blog to see more photos of her awesome room.  I am inspired just looking at it!

Let's see how much stash we can use up on our next Challenge!

Another year of scrapbooking excuses!

Yep. I'm talking to me. LOL I have a great craft room…a wonderful blog with awesome designers and followers…and I barely have time to craft for myself. UGH! My own blog is dismally empty, because, let's face it, posts take time.

I found something that I think will help kick my butt a bit this year:  Fitting It All In

A great blog post series by Ashley with some sage advice and tough love.  You will not regret taking the time to read it (and participate it…she makes you think!!).

My question is:  How will YOU make more time for crafting this year?

My goals:
**Put together more kits (card, layout, Project life), so I am ready to go at a moments notice.
**Take advantage of my small blocks of time to get some things done.
**Spend some time getting my photos ready, printed and sorted to speed up my scrap time.
**Be intentional about what I want to make.  For example, I want to make cards each month for some of the kids in my family.  I want them to know Aunt "Bef" loves them from afar.

Let's see what we can do together!

Hello 2014: January Counterfeit Kit

We are ringing in another great year here on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog!  We are thrilled to be keeping most of our Master Forgers for another 6 months, but need to say a sad goodbye to DAWN as she moves on to other things in the next year.  Make sure you stop by her blog to wish her well and hopefully we will still see her playing along from time to time!

Let's start off the year with a really fun kit, shall we?

And let's throw in some Oh, Deer Me December Embellishment Kit for good measure!

You may recognize our Guest Designer…Tara plays along with us often!

Hi everyone!!  My name is Tara.  I am a mom to five children ranging in ages 20 down to 9.  I am also a homeschooling mom with only three students left in my home.  Makes for some interesting photos to scrapbook.  Can you say EWWW to the dissections we did for biology lab?  I've been scrapping for about 13 years.  It's my sister's fault.  She got me hooked.  Haha!!!  I've been playing along with CKC for about 2 years, although from October 2012-2013 I took a break to single parent while my soldier was away serving our country overseas.  I am looking forward to scrapping with you this month!  Thank you CKC for allowing me to be a guest designer!!

To check out what Tara is up to…visit her at Tara's Ramblings!

Tara and our Master Forgers are ready to impress!  Here is the Hop List and don't forget to comment on their blog to show some love!

Now, how can YOU participate?  Go to the sidebar and use Mr. LINKY to link us to YOUR kit or project using your kit so we can leave you some love!  We will make a brand new Mr. Linky for each month, so get your blog posts linked ASAP!
To make Mr. Linky a little easier for us to use, please type your name and then a description of what you are linking (ie: kit, mini challenge, ect...).

We also have a new twist on our Follower Blog Hop for this year!  I hope you like it!
