May Challenge #3: Bucket List Challenge

One of my friends did a Summer Bucket List last year with her kids.  They made a huge poster and each wrote on it some things they were hoping to do over the summer.  Every week they picked something and did it.  It really helped them battle boredom and made sure they were doing something fun before summer got away from them.  I LOVE that idea and we will be doing it at our house this year.  We already have our list started and will be making a giant poster next month...

Challenge #3:  Bucket List Challenge:  Incorporate a Bucket List of things you would like to do/accomplish.  It could be a life list, crafting list, travel list....be creative!

Çare to see what our Master Forgers are dreaming about?  For me, hosting a blog event has always been on my list...so YEAH FOR ME!  Crossed one off!

Stephanie has travel on her mind and created a layout with hidden journaling to document all the places she wants to see. Here's a peek, check out the full layout over on her blog

Leslie had a blog birthday and wants to step up her game with some improvements in the next year.

Today is the LAST day for your to post your entries (on EACH Challenge Blog Post from our Wonderful World of Color Event)!  So if you have been putting it off...you have a tiny bit of time left!  Winners will be announced on the 20th!

May Challenge #2: Safety in Numbers

I was inspired by THIS POST BY PAPERCLIPPING ROUND TABLE about using up large amounts of embellishments.  Perfect fit for us, right?

Usually I am a hoarder.   **For those of you sarcastically saying "like we didn't know that already"....HUMPH!**  I want to make my supplies last and last and have a collection of things I have been saving and now have moved onto something else so I don't use them.  I am going to take a BIG gulp and give this one a try.  Heaven help me, but you might have to talk me off the panic ledge.

Challenge #2:  Safety in Numbers:  Choose one embellishment to focus on in your project and use A LOT of it!  The whole pack if you are brave enough!

Let's see who joined me on the deep end...

Guest Designer Laura is in on the action.  You can check out more on Her Blog.

Lesley G has used a whole sheet of labels on her layout...
You can see the whole layout on her BLOG

Milissa used almost a whole sheet of Heidi Swapp puffy stickers here...

Hey...I Can Make THAT!

May Tutorials

Welcome to "Hey...I can make THAT!"
A monthly post to help you truly counterfeit many of the components of the current month's kit.  No need to go out and purchase...just use the supplies you already have to create some of the freshest and trendiest products out there.  Here you will find links to our amazing design team members' blogs and/or links to other craft sites on the web showing how to make these amazing products.
This month we have a three choices from the April Paper Camellia Kit as seen here, here and here.
Are you a traditional scrapbooker?  Do you like to art journal?  Project Life more your thing?  There's a kit for everyone!  And lots of kits mean lots of forgeries going on over at CKC Design Team Central.  Let's see what our lovely Master Forgers have up their sleeve this month...

LesleyG made her own map paper by simply printing onto a patterned 12x12
By doing this she has personalised the paper and you can see
the resulting layout HERE

Angela was inspired by the globe pieces and made her very own digital stamp.
She tells us that it's very simple to do and has put a tutorial together to show us how here.
AND Angela's even created a free printable of the stamp she created for us to use (available until 29th May) that you can download from her blog here.

Leslie S had a bit of a misfire with one of her forgeries.
Check it out here - plus a few successes!

Now, all of these tutorials should keep you busy to complete your kit.  Remember to keep us in mind for your future forging needs.  Labels on the posts help you reference and search for tutorials in the future.  Think of us as your one-stop resource for inspiration AND tutorials!

Wonderful World of Colour - Colour Confidence

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great colour filled weekend with us all. My name is Angela, and I want to share some things with you today that created for my assignments as part of an on-line class with Cilenia Curtis, called Building Color Confidence. It's a self paced class, with downloadable materials and videos. All students have access to a special gallery and forum for sharing assignments to get feedback and for asking questions. Cilenia even supplies her email address for contacting her directly.

I've always loved crafting and art, but never been really confident about choosing colours. Cilenia's class has solved that for me now. Here are two colour schemes I created from my own photos.

Cilenia taught me lots about picking out colours, and how colours work with texture. She even has a really fantastic way of helping me remember how to use a colour wheel, she uses family relationships to describe the colour combinations instead of those complicated terms my school art teacher used. In the two swatches below I've taken one colour from the flowers and then used the colour wheel to pick the remaining colours.

Feel free to use any of these colour schemes for your scrapbooking this month, and here's a link to the website for the class preview video if you want to find out about it.

Blessings to you all from Angela.

Wonderful world of colour: Challenge #5 - Primary colours.

Hi everyone, Julene here.

When you look at advertising, you will see the 3 primary colours used often.
This is because they stand out.

In scrapbooking the PRIMARY COLOURS are used to make layouts POP.

Here are some examples I found on Pinterest.
Loved the colors

Now for my challenge
You will notice all of these have a white background with small pieces of primary colour.....
I'm going one step further, using just 3 colours with no white!

Can you do a similar one? If so link it up in the comments section of THIS post to be entered for my prize.

Here is the prize I'm offering in lovely spring colours
Bethany Collins Hardy's photo.

Have fun with those Primary colours!

Each one of the challenges will have a prize attached. To enter for that prize, you will want to complete that challenge and then link ON THAT POST to your entry. One entry per person and the winner for that challenge will be announced MAY 20TH. You have until MAY 16TH to complete your challenges and enter."

Wonderful World of Color: Pick a Palette of Color

Another  great video to help us out of our color woes:

It was very hard for me to pick from my Pinterest Board full in inspiring color, but these are a few that stood out to me.

I hope you are enjoying the Wonderful World of Color Event as we are starting to wind down!  I am excited to see all of the projects that come out of it!

Wonderful World of Color: Color Inspiration

Milissa, here, this afternoon, to provide a little color inspiration for you.  I am a blog junkie!  I have over 130 blogs in my Bloglovin' feed (no, they don't get read every day - unfortunately).  But one theme I see over and over is finding inspiration in ads or photos, for whatever your project may be.  This is not always an easy task for me to transfer to my scrapbooking as I tend to be a very literal person - color for color, flower for flower, etc.  Every now and then, though, something just clicks and it all works out.

This happened recently when I was at a retreat.  I was really struggling with which way I wanted to go with this challenge.  I had this particular challenge on my brain as I was jammin' out to my music and making Mother's Day cards.  I looked over at one of my friends at the retreat and I saw this:

That, my friends, is the rug that was on the floor beside my friend.  There is a nifty little website called Lets Chip It where you can upload a picture and it will pull out complimentary color swatches for you.

So what did I come up with for my card, you ask.  Let's see:

So there you have it.  Either use what I gave you above or look up that nifty little Sherwin Williams Lets Chip It site and use your own picture to create your own color inspiration.  Whichever way you decide to go, just GO and create something wonderful!

But don't forget to check back and see what other wonderful scrappy goodness we have coming up for you!

Happy Scrappin'
Milissa
