Forgeries on the Fourth - July Tutorials and Prize Announcement!

for·ger·y
ˈfôrjərē/
noun

  1. the action of forging or producing a copy of a document, signature, banknote, or work of art.

Welcome to "Forgeries on the Fourth" where it is no crime to create your own version of the trendy, hip products from the inspiration kit using your own stash and ingenuity. Each month on the fourth, check out tutorials from your Master Forgers or links to resources they have found for you on the internet.

This month we are using a kit from the German-based "Scrapabilly" shop to get our inspiration flowing.  Here's a quick reminder of the scrappy eye candy:

This month's guest designer, Julie jumped right in and created these pretty lacy borders and some other tutorials as seen on her blog HERE.

Want to achieve that weathered wood vibe that is in the July inspiration?  Lynnette found  this tutorial:

Wood-step3

And for another take on the weathered wood look, you can check out this example by Susanne.
It was as easy as using the right tone of ink with a wood grain stamp.  Details and more examples on her blog here.

And I'm sure you noticed the cool frames!  Well, I found some free printable ones HERE.  There are a whole variety on this site so be sure to take a gander!

Leslie, as usual, started with some papers...

How about these free printable lace papers?

Find them on Far Far Hill here

Or these free printable ornate frames?

Find them at the Graphics Fairy here

And last but not least, Lisa came up with a - very - simple way of getting the glossy effect on some left over die-cuts. Check out her blog for the easy way of achieving this.

Before you get busy with this month's tutorials, we have a special prize announcement!

First off, thanks for the overwhelming response in support of the Forgeries post and your participation.  We had so many fabulous takes on the tuts in the gallery.  Even more, so many of you USED them in layouts to create one of a kind embellishments!  How awesome to push yourself creatively.  You all proved to be clever forgers!

Our random winner for the Forgeries on the Fourth Challenge goes to...

Emma Clark!

Congrats to you, Emma!
We will be getting a prize out to you very soon!

Thanks again to all who participated!

FORGE ON, FRIENDS!
