Interview Style: Stephanie, Angela and Bethany!

Bethany:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Stephanie:   I had to go back in time on my blog to find the answer to this one! lol I discovered the Counterfeit Kit Club in April 2013 after seeing a post about it on someone else's blog. I played along that month and then applied for the design team the following month, in May 2013. I was fortunate enough to be chosen and I've been happily creating and counterfeiting ever since!

Bethany: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Stephanie: I'm a storyteller at heart, so my biggest inspiration are the stories behind the photos and the memories associated with them. It's important to me that the layout "looks" the way the memory "feels" … so that's where I pull the majority of my inspiration from.

Bethany:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Stephanie: I've always loved Gossamer Blue and lately I've been crushing on Felicity Jane kits too!

Bethany:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
Stephanie: Enamel dots and flair badges. Oh, and of course patterned paper. That's a given.

Bethany:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Stephanie: I love home decor and interior design. We bought a townhouse last year and I've loved picking out paint colors and linens and shopping for furniture and art pieces. Decorating is kind of like scrapbooking, but on a much bigger scale!

Bethany:  Time to dish!  What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Stephanie: Well, it's nothing crazy or wild but people often try and guess my ethnic background and they usually get it wrong so here goes … I'm half French, half Bajan - that's what you call someone from Barbados, FYI. And yes, I'm fluent in French :)

Bethany:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Angela:   I can't remember, I think I must have followed a link via someone's blog post. I've been playing for over 4 years.

Bethany: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Angela: Storytelling.

Bethany:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Angela: My favourite kit club doesn't exist anymore. My absolute favourites were the Colour Play Collections and the Follow Your Art Collections at Scrap Art Studio.  However, as I'm a digital scrapbooker, unless something drastic happens to all my back-ups etc I'll never run out of my favourite supplies.

Bethany:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
Angela: I like masking and using sketches.

Bethany:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Angela: Everything. My mum used to call me a jack of all trades. I enjoy all kinds of sewing, embroidery, art, and design.

Bethany:  Time to dish!  What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Angela: It took me seven goes to pass my driving test.

My Blog?  Pretty much here, but keep an eye on our Facebook Page as I plan to post some of my projects over there!

Q:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Bethany:  I started the whole thing!  LOL  Long ago there was a 2 peas thread about kit clubs and I commented on how much I wished I could afford to join one, but wouldn't it be nice to make our own kits from our stash?  That led to a private message conversation with Meridy who agreed and thought it sounded like a fun blog for us to do.  And off we went!

Q: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Bethany:  The need to be creative and for some alone time.  My brain is always spinning with ideas and jumping back and forth, so this is a great outlet for me to reign it in and try some fun things.

Q:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Bethany: Oh, goodness!  My crafting ADD means that changes all the time.  Yes, I still love to look at them and no, I have never ordered one.  Right now I love the Make It Market from Paper Trey Ink.  They are so different from what you would get in a kit from anywhere else.  Plus, I have a crafty crush on Betsy Veldman who puts them together.  If I could pick a company to MAKE a kit club, October Afternoon will always be my first love.

Q:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
I am a paper hoarder.  Love it.  Need it.  Don't like to cut into it.  Paper has feelings, you know.  I am also a sucker for stamps...especially if they have a matching die.

Q:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Bethany:  I am a voracious reader.  I usually have 5 books going at the same time.  (Back to the ADD again.)  I also do quite a bit of needle work (counted cross stitch and such).  My grandmother taught be when I was four and I have been doing it ever since off and on.  The last few years I have been REALLY back into it after finding Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and their cute stitching clubs.  My crafting also is eclectic as I love to do layouts, cards, project life, mini albums and home projects to decorate my Fireplace.

Q:  Time to dish!  What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Bethany: Hmmm...so many things...what should I pick?  Most of you may not know that I work in a church.  (What a shocking dirty little secret, right? LOL)  My hubby and I are both on staff (he is the Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor and I am the Children's Director and help quite a bit with youth stuff).  We have worked in churches our whole dating/married life starting in Puerto Rico (where we met) and go into churches with small or no youth/kids programs and get them up and running and growing.  We are hoping to stay put at this church for a good long time as we are tired of starting over so much.  LOL

  1. Oh wow, ladies... I have to say .... I had an moment where I realised that after reading your post, and after scrapping for 15yrs, I'm only just learning to become a story teller - and I'm still not there yet! Definitely it's been about creating - and I avoided any sort of involvement in journaling.... since Project Life, I've definitely gotten better.... but yeah.... still need to get to that story telling status!! Love the read..... and LOL... hahahaha....' paper has feelings!!!' hahaha I know!!!!
