Interview Style: Susan and Jemma!

Please help me welcome our final addition to our Master Forger team...Susan!  We are so happy to add you to our family!

Bethany:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Susan:   I have participated in Lain Ehmann's LOAD (Layout A Day) challenge since 2011 and Leslie, Lynnette and Lisa take part in that as well and they have always enthusiastically recommended CKC. I started participating in January 2015 and I was hooked!

Bethany:  What inspires you to scrapbook?

Susan:   I scrapbook because I want to record stories and memories that I know I would otherwise forget, and to leave a record of my life. I get inspired by all sorts of things; a memory or story, a particular photo, products, quotes, music, nature. I find inspiration everywhere!

Bethany:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!

Susan:   I just recently became a subscriber to Felicity Jane scrapbook kits and am really happy with them. I love the colors and that most of the kit contents are exclusive items - they're things you can't find anywhere else.

Bethany:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?

Susan:   I love to use labels and journaling spots. They're fun and versatile - they can hold journaling, they can be used as a layer or photo mat, they can be a decorative embellishment, and because I like to focus on telling stories, they're a natural fit for me. As far as techniques go, I don't think you can go wrong with a grid design.

Bethany:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?

Susan:   I like to cross-stitch, garden (although as the summer winds down it gets harder to keep on top of the weeds!) and bake.

Bethany:  Time to dish! What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?

Susan:   This was a tough one because I think I'm pretty much an open book, especially if you've read any of my scrapbook pages. So I'm going to share something weird about me - I am completely freaked out by marionettes and clowns. I have no idea why but it definitely started when I was very young. My dad used to travel often for work and he unknowingly once brought me a souvenir that sent me screaming from the room: a marionette clown! The poor man had no idea! Puppets don't bother me at all and I'm fond of the Muppets but if it has a string, I'm done. And you will never find me at the circus either.

Bethany:  How did you hear about Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog?  How long have you been playing along with us?
Jemma:   I heard about the CKCB via a blog I follow (From High In The Sky), where Siân was counterfeiting some Studio Calico Notions from a CKCB tutorial by you Bethany!  That was back in January 2011.  I was so inspired that I joined in with February's counterfeiting and applied to be one of the first Master Forgers that same month.

Bethany: What inspires you to scrapbook?
Jemma: I love telling the stories behind the photos from our holidays, scrapbooking the milestones of family life and occasionally telling a story from my own youth.

Bethany:  Give a shout out to your personal favorite kit club company!
Jemma: Erm ... I don't have one.  I've never, ever bought a scrapbook kit.  The CKCB has everything I need!

Bethany:  Do you have a favorite supply or technique?
Jemma: My go-to supplies change from time to time, but my most consistent favourite is probably buttons.  I love how many sizes, shapes, colours and textures they have.

Bethany:  Other than paper crafts, what other crafty or creative things do you like to do?
Jemma: I've dabbled in lots of crafts over the years: silk painting, photography, encaustic art, sewing, cross stitch, crochet, home furnishing.  Apart fro photography, they've all taken a back seat to scrapbooking.

Bethany:  Time to dish!  What is something that our readers would never in a million years guess about you?
Jemma: Having been on the Master Forger team for a while, I'm not sure that there's much that they don't know about me (that I'm willing to share)!  Thinking back, I was once a blue-belt in Tae Kwon Do and used to train 4 times a week in Covent Garden in London.  That was over 30 years ago now - I'd better find some photos and scrap some memories for my Book of Me!
