Memories of Christmas Past by Lisa

Hi! Lisa here and I'm so happy that you are here and playing along with us this month.

Hopefully by now, you know the score here at Counterfeit this month. On the first day, we are sharing memories of Christmas past using a mini-kit that we've put together to hopefully inspire and to prove that you don't need a lot of time to make something meaningful for your pages - whether that means a "real" scrapbook page or something for a December mini book of some sort.

You might know that I make rather large kits, so the idea of pulling together a mini-kit of sorts to make a single page was rather daunting. And I came up with the idea!

But, as a collector of much Christmas product and a maker of few Christmas pages, I decided to really go for the challenge and looked into just one of the past Shimelle Christmas kits that I had on my shelf. I believe that the one I broke into is the one from Christmas 2014 but I could be wrong. I hadn't used a single item from the kit though so I'm sure that tells you something!

Anyway, here's the page kit I put together along with two photos that tell a story about Christmas 2015.

Three sheets of paper along with some vellum, a set of Thickers, and a sprinkling of die cuts. I then added in some veneer stars to go with the vellum, some brown glitter washi and a length of cream twine. This is SO minimal for me!

And this was the page I made - the page kit allowed me to get the main page, including journalling, completed in around 45 minutes. A sprinkle of mist as a finishing touch and then a little off the page cluster meant that the whole thing was done in less than an hour total. Maybe that's why mini-kits are so popular!

I faffed around a little with my journalling so I'm sure that you could actually manage to complete this simple design in even less time if you were a bit more focussed on the story.

But that just showed me that daily creating is really a possibility - even at this busy time of year.

Thanks for dropping by today. Come back tomorrow to see which amazing Counterfeit Kit Challenge follower I'm highlighting!

Lisa!

  5. Your ideas for photos are immensely imaginative. And the balance of this page is worth remarking on also. This is a layout I could look at over and over again and find something new to love each time. Cheers.
