The Expectation of Christmas Future by Susanne

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good girl in 2016 and I sure hope you will remember me for that come the 25th of this month. (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)

Just in case you think I have come up a little short (yes, I like to cover my bases), I will remind you what someone once told me that I have always tried to apply to my little ones (back when they were little ones).  It is good to set expectations high, but it is also good to give credit for progress toward them, even when one falls short of perfection. Don't you think that sounds about right?

This year I have been working on completing all the class layouts and cards and other assignments that I have been given over the last few years at the Creating Keepsakes conventions I have been lucky enough to attend.  Because you keep tabs on everyone with those notorious lists of yours, you undoubtedly know that what started out as a full basket of unfinished projects is now an empty basket.  Somehow, I am not sure how, I managed to focus on those as my priority and it has paid off. See there – photographic evidence that cannot be denied!!  Is that enough to get the “NICE” box checked by my name?

I know you of all people must be astounded that I kept my eye on the prize and was not distracted by every shiny new scrappy thing that came along.  So maybe it would be only fitting if you might find some shiny scrappy goodies that could fill up my empty basket – or at the very least my stocking.

What do you say, Santa?santafacegfairy004

Oh, and Santa, rest assured that I don’t plan to rest on my scrappy laurels in 2017.  Oh no,  I am pledging to finish all the travel albums I have in process from the last two years. Yes, those trips to California wine country, Graceland, hiking in the State parks and that fabulous trip to France will all get properly scrapped in 2017. Yes, this very good girl will be reminding you of that in next year's Christmas missive.

Until then, I hope your Christmas is the merriest ever and that all your own expectations for 2017 are exceeded in the New Year!

Love,

Scrappy Susanne

PS  It certainly would be extra special if you dropped some shiny scrappy stuff into the stockings of all our CKC friends and followers out there - because they are a very "nice" group.

  2. What determination! What focus. What..SQUIRREL!
Girlfriend, how did you manage to keep from being distracted by every shiny new scrappy thing that came along? I NEED HELP with that. Is there a 12 step program?
Well done on completing your bin projects. The problem with those big projects (like trips) for me is that I get bored working on the same theme and/or with the same products.
    Thanks for the chuckles, today.

  3. YAY!!! I have some projects that need to get done by the New Year. Maybe I should sneak those in this December and finish them up. Hmm.... and I have a travel book I need to finish too. Yep, count me in on that one for 2017.

    Blessings,
    dawn
