Tutorial-DIY Patterned Paper

American Craft's-Hello Sunshine, Fluttery, 12x12 Paper
This month's kit contained a piece of patterned paper by American Crafts, Hello Sunshine line.  Simple enough to re-create with doily stamps...

Ink and Doily Stamp
Step 1: Choose about 5 different colors of ink you would like to use.
Step 2: Choose the doily stamp you would like to use and a sheet of Kraft cardstock.
Step 3: Randomly stamp your image on your paper (I used chalk inks, so they would show up on the Kraft paper)

DIY Patterned Paper

"Digital" Variation:

Step 1: Use doily images from the Internet.  (see this post for a list of places to find doily images on-line)
Step 2: Copy and paste them randomly either in a Photoshop, Microsoft Word, or PowerPoint document
Step 3: Change the color of the doilies to suit your color scheme (to do this in PowerPoint follow these steps...insert the picture of the doily, select it, go to the format tab, go to the "color" drop down menu, choose "recolor", and click on the desired color)
Step 4: Print on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper

  5. Gabrielle,
I got mine in the $1 bin at JoAnn's a while ago...but I was just there yesterday...they still had them! Do you have a J's by you? If not, I'll pick one up for you the next time I'm there and send it your way :)

  7. Meridy, we don't have a J's here. Thanks for the offer! If you happen to go by, and they are still there, I'd love one, but I don't want you to go out of your way. I'd be happy to pay you!
