Just the Gist of It

Good Morning :)
I thought I would start off this post with the

Definition of gist

2 : the main point or part : essence

The gist of any action is the factor on which the action depends:

So with that said this is my point of view of Just the Gist of the Kit. We are  counterfeiting this month this inspiration kit that comes from: Button Farm Club “Everyday Documented Page Kit April

Which looks like a huge kit, but if you look at and break it down it's not really all that bad to counterfeit it. My approach to counterfeiting a kit is by way of looking at the kit and making a list of what is in the kit:
Colors: Hot Pink, Green, Blue, Yellow and Purple and they are mainly in pastel colors.
Patterns: Bikes, Rain Drops and clouds, Florals, Butterflies, Doilies, Grape bunches, plaid, splotches of watercolors, large words, embossed and multicolor stripe.
Embellishments and textures: speech bubbles, wood veneer, tags, die cuts, word stickers, arrows, butterflies, confetti, doily stamps and hearts

With this list I created I then take it look at my own stash and start pulling items that I create with, looking at patterns and colors that will go together to make pages. Once you try it it doesn't take long to get into a rhythm of trying more each month :) and that is Just the Gist of it.....

Come back on the 4th for our Forgery on the Fourth feature which hopes to encourage you to make some of your own elements for your kit and of course, the mini-kit on the 6th and the challenges on the 12th and 18th. Everything you need to keep you inspired throughout the month.
