September 2019 - Challenge #1 - "Curate" your project!

Welcome to Challenge #1 when we hope to inspire you to jump into your own kit and get creating. Join in and share your own take on either of our challenges (#2 is up on the 18th).

Today I'd like you to "curate" your own project!

As you know, we are working with a curated kit this month which is rather exciting, When I looked up the meaning of "to curate" in the dictionary, I found this definition.

verb (used with object), cu·rat·ed, cu·rat·ing.

to take charge of (a museum) or organize (an art exhibit)
to pull together, sift through, and select for presentation, as music or website content
I love the idea of pulling together some sort of exhibit or collection - isn't that what we do with our memories all the time in this wonderful hobby of ours?

Be inspired by this definition in some way for your own project.

Let's see what Guest Designer Khristina as well as Master Forgers Cindy, Lori and Tina have in store for us today!

Here's what Guest Designer Khristina had to say about this prompt:

"Khristina here and I'm so excited to be guest designing this month as well as providing the inspiration kit for everyone to work with! This has been such a fun experience and I cannot wait to see what each of you comes up with for this first challenge.

When I read the challenge to use the definition of curate as an inspiration spark, it immediately made me think of gallery walls that you might find in your home. These walls are often a custom curated set of images, text, and artwork that has meaning to you and your family or follows your decorating theme.

I decided to run with that idea and found this particular gallery wall to use as inspiration in my Pinterest folder. I included the same types of elements on my scrapbooking layout making sure to use things that would bring texture, balance, and unique characteristics to telling this story of my son on a recent camping trip.

I hope that you will stop by blog (post here) as well as my You Tube channel (link in blog post) to check out even more about how this project came together. I cannot wait to see your version!"
