March 2020 Mini-Kit Reveal and Project

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the idea of a big kit this month?

Perhaps you wan to pull together just a few products to get those creative juices flowing again.

Maybe a mini-kit is just the answer!

Today we will be sharing a couple of mini-kits and projects to give you a little inspiration.

First, here's a reminder of our March inspiration kits:

Guest Designer Julie

Julie made a 'mini' sized mini kit, simply choosing some 6x6 patterned papers from her stash that were inspired by the kits from Citrus Twist.

She then made a super cute A4 layout on white cardstock, with added elements from an old T-Shirt (!) and stickers from her Main Kit.

Master Forger Clair

This month, I started with the chipboard embellishment set which reminded me of several *ahem* Ali Edwards sets that I have stashed away. From there, I added some Ali Edwards Pocket Life Cards, that reminded me of the set included in the main inspiration kit. Finally, I added a few newer stamp sets from Kellie's Stamps; washi and a little clip. Not bad for a mini kit!

So far, I've added a story to my Project Life Album for 2019. First, I took two 6x8s and stuck them back to back to create an insert, then added one of Ali's chipboard embellishments to the side of one 6x8. This will be at the front of my July - December Album, so I'm really happy with it's simplicity.

I left the next 6x8 blank, then added some smaller 3x4s from the day, to a Simple Stories Pocket. One or two embellishments and a simply told story later and I have another memory to add to my album. Result!

Master Forger Shannon

Shannon created a mini kit based on the mood and feel of the inspiration kit.  The colors were soft yellow and blue tones.  She had a few pieces of Pinkfresh in her collection and quickly came up with a lovely little kit!  See the process here: https://youtu.be/1pvT45i5rv8

Shannon used up a bunch of her mini kit on this fun layout!  A nice 5-inch strip on the vertical creates a color block while the fussy cut lemons allows the eye to move across horizontally.  She used a mix of a word and alphas to create the title.  Finally, she finished off the layout with some fussy cut pieces and puffy elements.

Here's what we have coming up for the rest of this month:
  • March 12th and 18th - We'll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you've made.
  • March 24th - I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community members who's caught my eye this month.
  • March 30th - We'll be offering another installment in our Killing Kits Series to help you find ways to use up your kit.
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-Up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcmarch2020)

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
