May 2020 - Mini-Kit Reveal & Project

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the idea of a big kit this month? Perhaps you just want to pull together a few products to get those creative juices flowing again. Well, maybe a mini kit is the answer.

Today we'll be sharing a couple of mini kits, created by our Master Forgers, with some projects to give you a little inspiration! First, let's remind ourselves of this month's inspiration kit, the March 2020 debut kit of the new bi-monthly Club Echo Park!

Club Echo Park March 2020 kit
Master Forger Shannon used this great little collection by Jen Hadfield.  The colors work ever so nicely with the inspiration kit!

Look at the fun elements of the cute little hedgie holding flowers as well as the bonus of the little macaron stickers!  This is seriously fun!

Shannon was able to create a lovely layout keeping the mood and feel of the inspiration kit and telling the story of her daughter creating macarons.  See the process here:

Master Forger Clair

Clair took her mini kit in a different direction to usual. She was drawn to the vibrant red in the inspiration kit, as it's not a colour that's often included in kits outside of Christmas (and sometimes Valentines!) So, instead of copying the kit 'faithfully' she simply chose to work with her limited supply of red scraps and an unlimited supply of white cardstock!

Obsessed with both cut files and cards at the moment, Clair chose a little heart cut file to make a series of small cards. Sized at 3 x 4.5 these little cards are now ready to be embellished with sentiments, whenever the need arises.

We'll be back later this month with more ideas and challenges, as you put together and use your kit.

Here's what we have coming up later in the month:
  • May 12th & 18th: We'll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you've made.
  • May 24th: I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community who's caught my eye this month
  • May 30th: We'll be offering another instalment in our Killing Kits Series to help you find ways to use up all of your kit.
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcmay2020).
Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!

Thanks & have fun!

  1. Two totally different approaches to the main inspirational kit for Shannon and Clair to go with their own mini kits! And both did sensational little kits and sample projects! Thanks CKC and crew for always providing 'food for thought' towards scrapbooking!
