November 2021 - Mini-kit Reveal and Project

Sometimes, you just don't have the time or motivation to make and use up a full kit. Maybe you need to replenish your card supplies, or have a small mini-album in mind to make. Perhaps November is a really busy month - I KNOW that feeling 😉 - but you still want to have something creative to fulfil that need to interact with paper and pretty supplies!

This is the post for you.

This is where we show you two mini-kits that we've made up as well as the small projects that we made with those supplies.

Today, MF Laura and Lisa are sharing their ideas and hope that you will also feel inspired to give this a go if you need to take a slightly different direction this month!

A quick reminder of the inspiration kit in November to kick-things off - Felicity Jane September 2021 Emily:

At the time this post goes live, I will be on a short break in Scotland and what better excuse to make a small mini-album than a trip! So I knew the direction I wanted to go from the start.

And I explained to you in the kit reveal hop back on Monday (see here) that I went full-rogue on my regular kit. Well, I've only gone and done the same for my mini! 😳

When I went through the mini-kits I'd got from Studio Calico I spotted one from November 2015 and lo and behold, the colours were very reminiscent of the original kit this month! I took a few things out, added in a couple of items from the other mini pouches I had and here you go! I fished out a Simple Stories 6x8 mini album (top left) and plan to use these supplies as my travel album, trying to keep it quick and simple. I'll be taking it with me and will try to fill in some items while I'm there but my record isn't perfect with that kind of thing so let's see how that works out 😉

Here's my "Lowlands" mini-kit and you can see all the colours from the Felicity Jane kit as well as many of the original paper patterns. The embellishments feature leaves, stars, hearts, dots and stickers! It feels like it has a bit of everything I need and am excited to pack up some basic supplies to take along - photos can wait until I get back.

I've made a really quick title page using the November card, a note card and a sprinkle of embellies. I'm keeping it very simple in an attempt to make this project doable for myself and easy to complete (without photos) on the road. I will share more when I get back and you can see if I was successful!

Master Forger Laura says this about her mini kit this month:

My mini kit this month may not look too mini...but it actually is! I have been making a project life style album for this years photos, so decided to make my papers for the kit 6x4 size so I can incorporate them easily into my album. So all the papers in my kit are 6x4 and the journalling cards 3x4. I added in plenty of fussy cut florals and some word phrases just like in the original kit, and also my forged days of the week die cuts. These will work great in my memory planner insert that I am also working on. I absolutely love this month's kit inspiration and my plan is to take some of the 6x4 papers and layer them up with some of the labels and flowers to make my own project life style cards for my album.

Here’s some close-ups as well!
