November 2024 Just the Gist of It

Howdy, Howdy! Welcome back to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog for November 2024. Master Forger Vikki back again and today, I'm going to talk about how I created my kit for the month.

As a reminder, our inspiration kit is Goldenrod by Traci Reed Designs.

I liked the inspiration kit so much, I bought it.  I printed only a few of the patterned papers, along with the stickers and journal cards.

When I create a kit, I start with the papers.  I usually try to pick a paper that has the majority of the colors representing the kit, and then choose the remaining papers to coordinate.

This month, I started with this sheet of patterned paper.  It contains all of the colors in the kit.  This was a paper from the inspiration kit.  But don't worry, I pulled plenty of papers from my stash.

Here are the papers I chose to work with.  I love all things Fall and have many papers in fall colors.  I must tend to hoard them because some of the papers were from 2009.  Notice how some of the papers are darker versions of the colors in the inspiration kit.  I've also included several sheets of solid card stock. I can use these as backgrounds or to mat the photos.

I always make sure to include plenty of alphabet choices in my kits.  I love alphas!  A variety of colors and sizes are a must for me.

I went into my Fall stickers and chose an abundance of possibilities to use this month.  I found a cute frame in fall colors and also some beautiful word stickers in a striking gold.  A touch of gold will add a nice additional color to the kit.

The inspiration kit had wonderful journal cards and design elements that can be fussy cut.  I'm not a big fan of fussy cutting, but I'll make an exception for this kit.  These items include both fall and Halloween, which will give me different options for scrapbooking this month.  I included some 3x4 journal cards from my stash.  No kit is complete without enamel dots, and I've included several.

I have added some ephemera pieces, including florals, fall leaves and birds.  There are a few more frames, some burlap tags, wood veneer, flair and mini envelopes to finish up my kit.

I hope you enjoyed learning about how I put my Counterfeit kit together.  Be sure to post your kit.  We would love to see what you create this month!
