August 2020 - Challenge #1 - Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the 1st challenge of the month to get us using our kits!

Do you ever consider what your style is when it comes to scrapbooking? My favorite thing to do besides making monthly kits with inspiration from Counterfeit Kit Challenge is sketches! 

So the 1st challenge is this sketch:

Our Guest Designer Gina took on this challenge and produced a cute layout:

 

Hi, CKC Community. I really liked the sketch that Tina picked out because I love the look of paper layers. When I use a sketch, I like to let the sketch do the thinking for me to save time, so I stick to the sketch as much as possible, but allow myself any adjustments as needed. I did consider rotating the sketch when I was looking for photos, but the sketch was just right as is. As you can see, I changed out some of the circles to rings to give it abit more dimension and interest and added the googly eyes to them, loved the idea of using the descriptive words which I included in my kit from the inspiration kit, and gave a little more width to the left layer (circles paper) to see more of the descriptive words on that paper as well, and, finally, I had to add a little bit of my love of mixed media mists to my layout, too. MF Lisa stayed relatively true to the sketch too and of course, featured her adorable puppy for a simple layout that needs some journaling and a little extra - that's going on her list to get finished off even if she can't quite decide that that little extra is!

She changed things up by adding some hand drawn lines to each of the layers but as you can see, they are really not perfect! Does anyone have any good tips for drawing lines that are even half-way straight? :-) 

And of course, don't forget that we'll be back throughout the month to give you some tips, ideas and challenges as you put together and use your kit.
