June 2025 - Challenge #2 - Let's Get Messy!!!

Are you ready for another challenge to help you use the kit you curated this month? Let me remind you of our inspiration kit first:

  Today, I am challenging you to GET MESSY! 

Make it Messy!  Create a mixed media layout!  Get as messy as you are comfortable with or as simple as you’d like.  Stamping, rub-ons, inking, paints, distressing, texture pastes or butters, stenciling, embossing…the sky is the limit!

I used yellow paint, Red mist through a stencil and stamped using black distress ink (2 different stamps). I also added a clock that I 'aged" using a tea bag.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty proud of my kit this month! I just adore the organic nature of the colors. It went perfectly with the photos of the pond on our land. I used both rub-ons and some paint splatters as mixed media behind my photos. Can you peep them??

June 2025 - Challenge #1 - Let's Get Outdoors!!!

 Hi and welcome back!  Today, I am going to give you our very first challenge!  First, let me remind you of our inspiration kit:

NJFB "Intrinsic" Limitless Kit

 

 

Today, I am challenging you to get outdoors!  Create a layout using some of the nature inspired icons in the inspiration kit to create an outdoors layout….hiking, mountain climbing, bicycling, running, walking, et cetera!!!

MF Laurie

 

Master Forger Laurie created a layout that captures a peaceful moment in nature, centered around a cozy campfire by a lake. She used earthy tones and a distressed background to create a rustic, outdoorsy vibe. The mushrooms, butterflies and botanical embellishments from her kit add a whimsical charm. 

 MF Tara

 

MF Tara created a two page layout using her kit and photos from 2019 of her family's break during a day filled with homeschool field trips.  She also used one of her forgeries on this layout.

June 2025 - Mini Kits & Projects Reveal

Hello!  I am back again today to talk about time! Summer months are always so busy for most of us.  School is out, and we are keeping our kids busy during the longer, warmer days. Or maybe we are going on vacation.  Time....it's a huge deal for all of us.  What if you'd like to create a kit but know you aren't going to have time to use up a larger kit?  Then, this post is for you!  This is our mini kit post for those of you who are super busy this month!!  First, let me remind you of our inspiration kit:

 Hello!  I was in need of a few quick birthday cards and saw this month's kit as the perfect opportunity to get them done.  I curated my super mini kit from the color palette of the inspiration kit.  Since I was creating cards this month, I added a sentiment stamp. 

Here is the first card with my mini kit. I plan to get at least two more cards out of this kit.

 Hello scrappy friends, when I saw this months kit inspiration, I  immediately knew that I wanted to use some of my 49 and market supplies and go with a outdoor theme for my family trip to Utah at the beginning of this month. I am excited because camping and outdoor themed supplies are my favorite. Here is my mini kit for this month.

Here is my first project with my kit, there is no photos yet ,it's for a up and coming road trip to Utah

June 2025 - Forgeries on the Fourth

 

  Welcome back!  Today, the Master Forgers and I are going to share our counterfeited kit items.  Let me remind you of our inspiration kit:

 Our Guest Designer has a special forgery for you this month.  She's created a cutfile that you can download for free if you are a member of the FaceBook Community Group.  Details will be on the group today.  After June is over, the cutfile will be available for sale in her shop.

Master Forger Jody really loved the stars in the add-on kits.  I agree-they ARE quite fun.

 

 

These are great little textural accents for any layout.

Jody found a piece of burlap paper and used her trusty Silhouette to cut out stars. 

Here is the final layout!

I loved the acrylic word "Roam" and the mushroom die cut so I checked out my Silhouette Design Studio library and found a font to create a similar "Roam" word and a cutfile of mushrooms (cutfile #416534) that is also similar to the one in the kit.  Here's a screenshot of my Silhouette Design Studio workspace prior to cutting out the designs:

 I will be using one of the sheets of the "rusty" patterned paper for the Roam and will be stacking the three to create a title piece from paper similar to the acrylic in the kit. Remember, forgeries can be close and not exact.  Here's my completed cutfiles:

 

 

 

You may wonder why I cut three of the word.  It's because I stacked them to create the illusion of an acrylic title piece.  I also did the same with my mushroom cutfile.

I wiped over an offcut of clock paper with a used teabag to age it ready to use this month.

Master Forger Misty

 

Misty was excited by multiple items again this month. She ended up making three forgeries.  She recreated the metal charms using shrink plastic and metallic pigment ink.

The stars sure were popular with the team this month!
Misty made hers out of felt instead of corduroy. 

 

She loved many of the mushroom images and combined ideas to make mushroom postage stamps (as well as a slew of others). Not an exact forgery, but a lovely idea anyway.
