Challenge #1: Water Color Challenge

Recently I bought some paint sets for the class of preschoolers I teach.  Remember these?

So much fun!  The kids loved mixing colors and seeing how it spread out on their project.

Challenge #1:  Water Color Challenge:  Use a water color technique on your project!

So many ideas out there for this!  Here are just a few!

Let's check out what some of the Master Forgers have been working on…

Julene has been using silky crayons
Go to her blog to discover just what they are.

Angela's been using her watercolour paints to make background washes, and with a home made stencil too. Pop over to her blog and see some of the pages she's been painting up this week.

Lynnette used her watercolors to add subtle drips and blocks of color.  See the whole layout here.

Don't forget…this is one of the challenges that can be used for the end of the month blog hop!  Just don't share it yet and e-mail us that you want in and we will send you the instructions for the hop.  :)

Get ready to see stars AND hearts in this round of tutorials pulled from our February Counterfeit offering.  Find out all about the inspiration kit here.

Now...let's get on with forging!

LesleyG has forged the MME Cupid's Arrow Love 3""x4" Cardstock Journal Element Cards
as well as the "Alpha Love" 12x12

Jemma counterfeited Crate Paper's Sparked patterned paper, but substituted stars for hearts:
Jimjams - counterfeiting Crate Paper Sparked paper
  • Punch shapes from scraps, matching the colours in the rest of your kit
  • Punch shapes from an old book page
  • Stick them in curved rows onto a plain paper background with the minimum of glue
  • Using a small zig-zag stitch machine-sew them down!
Leslie has also changed up the hearts for a "Starstruck" kit. A handful of counterfeit papers plus some neat embellis were forged from the papers in the inspiration kits.

Lynnette dug out our her watercolor crayons and her daughter's Crayola paint box to create this easy counterfeit heart paper.  Check out her blog here to see the easy peasy process and how she used it on a page.

Well, there you have it, folks!  Now that you are seeing hearts and stars, try your hand at some of these fabulous tutorials.  We'd love to see YOUR creations over on Mr. Linky!

Organize This: Week 16: Paints, Glitter and Stickles

It is that time again!  Head on over to My Love Affair with the Label Maker to get your Paint, Glitter and Stickels tamed!

I thought I had mine under control, but I have been rethinking my storage lately.  Here is how I have mine sorted:

Here is my paint...apparently I need to buy some more.  LOL  (More is stored on the other side...best garage sale find ever!  Only 3 for this spinning rack!)

All of my glitters, flock and embossing powders are in this jetmax drawer.

I love this cute little plant cart.  I keeps stickles/mists on it.

Susanne stores her paints in a very fun basket!  I love this idea!

How do you store your stickles, paints and glitter?

Challenge #2: Paint Challenge

I have one of these sitting in my craft room.  I found it at a yardsale for $3 because the person selling it thought it was a very inefficient jewlery holder.  HA!  I told her what it was AFTER I paid for it.  She said, "hmmm...that makes more sense!"  Now ask me how often I use my paints.   Wait...did you see my pretty paint spinner?  Let's talk about that instead!

Challenge #2:  Paint Challenge:  Use paint on your project!

Here is some inspiration for you!

What is your favorite type of paint for scrapbooking?  I am in LOVE with crackle paint right now!
