May 2025 Forgeries on the Fourth

Today is the day when our Master Forgers share the forgeries they have created for the month of May. First, let me remind you of our inspiration kit, Anywhere but here 

 

MF Ryann loved the alpha set in the inspiration kit.  She used her Cricut to make these!

                                

 

Master Forger Julene made these cute little tabs to add to her layouts. She found the negative in her scrap bag so traced around it using scraps of patterned paper.

 

 

 

Master Forger Jojo made these cute Retro motel key rings out of pattern papers and stickers from her kit.

I appreciated the scrabble tile phrases and used my Cricut to recreate them.

{inter}National Scrapbook Day With The Master Forgers!!!

 Well, hello!!! Today is iNSD and the Master Forgers and I have some wonderful challenges for today!!! Our very first challenge for you comes from me, Master Forger Tara!  However, before we get to that, I would like to give you our schedule for today!

• 2 p.m. Challenge 8-Misty - Spruce Up Your Titles
• 4 p.m. Challenge 9-Tara - Use A Travel Themed Icon (ie. a geotag)
• 6 p.m. Challenge 10-Christine - Base Page Challenge
• 8 p.m. Challenge 11-Brandi - Not So Basic Shapes
• 10 p.m. Challenge 12-Misty - No Photos
• Midnight May 4 Challenge 13-Tina - Use Up What's On Your Desk
  

All of these challenges will take place on our FaceBook Community Group and will be pinned to the top of the group for ease.  These are due by midnight, May 5th and must be posted in the corresponding album to be in the running for one of the four gift cards.

Our first challenge is very simple and I will also be posting it to the group.  Share photos of your May kits!  That's it!

May 2025 - Just the Gist of It

Master Forger Jojo here as your hostess for this month. We just had our inspiration kit reveal yesterday. When I was looking for a kit to counterfeit for this month ,I wanted a travel collection that would go with all kind of travel and vacation photos, including my route 66 and Arizona photos. Also loved the cactus and retro hotel key rings along with the summer colors of this collection.

I knew when I started to pull my kit it was going to be a very large kit. I wanted to not only have enough stuff and choice for my vacation photos, but my oldest granddaughter Washington DC photos also. Here is some photos of my kit.

May 2025 - Inspiration Kit and Social Media Hop

Hi this is JoJo and I am your master forger in charge this month, I picked a very fun travel collection for this month's inspiration. I chose Anywhere but here By Traci Reed over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. I chose this collection because it's almost summer and we will be starting our summer travels. The inspiration collection is very cute, and the colors scream summer to me.

                                                                        

                                                                                    

For this month guest designer, I chose one of my scrappy friends, Kathy McElfresh. I even got go to a  few retreats with her. She is known by Scrappy Kathy, she has a YouTube channel, Instagram and even a Facebook group called "Scrappy Kathy and Friends", be sure to check them all out.

                                                                              

Here is what Kathy had to say:

 

I'm trilled to be the guest designer this month at CKC and had a blast making up my kit. I love challenges of all kinds and I try to mix them up to keep things interesting. My grandkids are off doing their own things so I don't scrap about them quite so much these days ,although I love digging back through the archives to find everyday photos that over time have become precious. To follow my scrappy adventures on Instagram look for scrappykathy with a extra y. On YouTube I am scrappy Kathy or @scrappykathy without the extra y and I gather at Scrappy Kathy and friends on Facebook.

Here is Kathy's Kit and what she had to say about it:

 

First I wanted my kit to be manageable in size and usable for travel or everyday pages. Then I wanted to feature the coral-pink and aqua colors and travel icons in the inspiration kit. I picked from my papers that are stored by color and I mixed pattern scales and colors to get a nice variety. I pulled generic and themed embellishments, mostly from 49 and market, both ephemera and chipboard, as well as rub-ons and a few stickers. I've also gathered all my acetate leaves and florals for a bit of color and nature on each page. I've also mixed photorealistic elements with creative elements for an eclectic look.

April 2025 - Challenge #4 - Baby, Use Those Scraps

  Welcome back to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog! As a reminder, this month's inspiration kit is lil' man by Bella Gypsy!

We have just one final challenge for you for the month of April! As always, our team is sharing a few ideas with using up the scraps left in your monthly kit. Let's see what they've got this time!

Creating with my scraps is an all-month-long endeavor for me! I always try to use up what I've already cut into as I create layouts throughout the month. I snuck in quite a few little bits as layering pieces on this one. The only "new" paper on the page is the grey background! 

Master Forger Misty

I honestly didn't have many scraps. Instead I turned to the 6x6 papers I included in my kit. They are about the same size as scraps left over from cutting down 12x12 anyway! So, my "scraps" and a circle punch and I have a bit of a flowy background for my story.

April 2025 - Follower's Showcase

 Every month, we take a look at our community and choose one of our fantastic followers to highlight! This is always such a difficult decision, we wish we could shine the spotlight on all of you! 

For me, I always like to look for someone who may be new to the group or is playing along for the first time. So, without further ado, our follower showcase for April is Michele Kent McCants! 

You can find her on social media as stampbooker on both YouTube and Instagram!

Her kit is based on our March inspiration kit, but she's been creating away here in April! One of the things that really stuck out to me was the process video she shared all about creating your own embellishments - a great resource for our community as we're all about using up our stash! You can find her video here.

I asked Michele what she likes about the Counterfeit Kit Challenge and here's what she had to say: 

"So, I was always resistant to playing along because I felt I had my own “agenda” and goals with my scrapbooking and thought this would conflict, but when I Finally made a Kit late last month, it has been amazing how much more scrapbooking I have gotten done! I chose my kit based on the March inspiration and then pulled some photos to go with it. I’ve been working on finally getting birthday photos from 2001 scrapbooked because of this kit! Yay!"
