"I was forced (can you hear the dramatic sobbing?) to make the Veneer Journal Card and Happy Title from the Into the Woods kit.
The mushroom journaling card (Veneer Journal Card) was pretty simple as well...
I cut out some tan cardstock slightly bigger than my journal lines stamp. Then I placed my mushroom stamps in the corner to see how big my mask needed to be.
I placed a piece of paper (the size of my mushrooms) in the corner to keep it blank while I stamped the journaling lines.
Next I stamped the mushrooms and colored them in with some Copic markers. Easy. Rounded corners and I was done."
Another Option:
If you would really like to add the "veneer" wood look...you can always go to your local home improvement store and grab a faux "wood" laminate sample. You can stamp on the laminate sample with Staz-On ink, or even heat emboss an image onto it.

What a good reminder to use masking while stamping; and I might have to bop into the local home store for some laminate samples!
ReplyDeleteBoth versions of the mushroom tag are super-cute! Also, Creative Imaginations has a "real wood" line -- wood veneer in 6x12 and 12x12 sheets -- I happen to have some in my stash that I'll be using for this one, for sure!
ReplyDeleteOff to hit those tutorials -- thanks!
Oh! Good idea! I'll have to stop at the hardware store for laminate samples on my way home from work today.
