We are proud to introduce our April 2011 Guest Counterfeiter, Stacey! She will be playing along this month, making a Counterfeit Kit of her own, and joining in the mini challenges. We are very excited to showcase some of her work throughout the month of April 2011. And now, to get to know her a little better we will let her introduce herself...
"Hey there. My name is Stacey. I have two sons ages 11 and a newborn. Plus I have two step-daughters ages 16 and 12. I'm lucky to be married to a man that angels allowed me to find. We enjoying camping and sports so this keeps us busy and me taking pictures. I cashed in my Psychology degree to earn certification as an ESE teacher. This year I co-teach junior and senior English. This means I get to work with both general education and special education children. The idea of the inclusion or co-teach classes is to have two teachers to make sure special needs students don't fall behind.
My first scrapbook project was a gift to my eighth-grade best friend, and I have crafted random projects over the years. In 2009, I regained my passion for scrapbook with gusto and I have been creating layouts relatively consistently. Scrapbooking is how I relieve my stress. I need to scrap because I need peace. I describe my scrapbooking style as elementary. Like an elementary student I fill my days with learning and trying new stuff. I hate to say I hoard scrapbook embellishments, but I simply cherish my supplies and embellishments too much to use them. Often I try to copy embellishments. It is fun to make handmade embellies that match perfectly to layouts.
I am highly involved in the community at scrapbook.com hosting a variety of challenges including a monthly on-line crop. I love sharing my work on-line and the inspiration my fellow scrappers provide. Recently I was added to the Pages in Time design team. In addition to this honor, I was selected as the April Counterfeiter for the Counterfeit Kit challenge. To me the Counterfeit Kit is better than any kit club you could subscribe to because you build your personalized kit with the supplies you already have on hand; those things you obviously liked enough to individually pick out in a store. I’m eager for another month of motivation provided by the master of forgeries and look forward to sharing my work. Feel free to hang out at my blog: http://ohschwietscrap.blogspot.com/.
