December Daily Challenge---written by Master Forger Margie

"I really love the idea of doing a December Daily album, but, with 4 kids and a limited scrapbooking budget, I felt that I would be able to make a great "Counterfeit Kit" from the supplies I already had on hand.
There are so many great Christmas kits out there that it was HARD to narrow it down to just one kit to copy-so I picked 2! The kits I chose to draw inspiration from were : The hot kit this season from Studio Calico, and a fantastic kit from last season, from  A Kiss on the Chic. I drew inspiration from both kits to come up with a Christmas kit that I just love!I have plenty of supplies to make my December Daily-plus plenty of other goodies to use on layouts and cards.

Margie's Counterfeit Kit
Some of my favorite elements in my kit are the chevron paper (a free digi paper that I got on a Jessica Sprague blog hop, and printed on watercolor paper) there is a link for a free chevron pattern here, the "chicken wire" die cut (which I cut with silver Wasua cardstock, my Cricut and SCAL), and my tiny die cut envelopes (cut from Echo Park For The Record digipaper with my Cricut and SCAL), and the awesome free printables from Creativity Prompt, Just Something I Made, Pink Paislee herehere and here , the Graphics Fairy, and ormolu

I needed an album to stuff this all into-what better than that new green Smash book I haven't used yet?! I will also be using a mix of photography prompts from Capture Your 365 , and Rebecca's "Simple as That" blog.
I have some awesome December Daily albums, kits, and ideas pinned to my December Daily Christmas Album Inspiration Board, if my kit didn't suit you, have a peek and make one the way you like it!!"

Here are some links to a few of the printables that Margie used:
Creativity Prompt's December Daily Journaling Cards Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
Creativity Prompt's December Daily Labels
Graphics Fairy Christmas Images
Jack and Cat Curio's freebie "Santa" Bingo card

If you are interested in creating a Counterfeit December Daily kit please share it here!  Rather than a Mister Linky for the December Daily...leave a link to yours in the comments below.  To easily find this post in the future, there will be a "quick link" towards the top of the right hand column called "December Daily".  I'm super excited to see every one's kits and/or completed December Daily's!!!!

  3. Mine's a Journal Your Christmas rather than a DD....have used a mix of Simple Stories and Authentique papers.....and made up an embellishment kit from my xmas stash here

  4. I'm doing Journal Your Christmas again this year - although it really ends up as a mix of JYC/DD as I frequently go "off topic". No real counterfeiting from me in terms of kit but I am constructing my own album from scratch here.

  5. i adore your kit and am trying to find the time to put mine together. though it's only a short 9 days away! I don't really follow anything specifically (DD or JYC) but rather just go with what inspires me on the day - isn't it great that there's so much out there to be inspired by? off to check out your pins now...

  6. Lovely kit Margie! I like the idea of the chicken wire - very clever. So far all I've got is an empty album and a big pile of ALL my Christmas stash - I need to get sorting!

  7. Dare I commit to a DD this year? I would love to. Crossing everything that I can pull it off.

  12. not your standard December Daily, but I have a child with Aspergers. I've done him a book style visual timetable for the Holiday Season changes to routine. The first day is today. http://colestoucan.blogspot.com/2011/12/edwardian-christmas.html

  14. I have created a December Daily entirely from my stash - based on Kathy Orta's You Tube Tutorial. Many more pic's in previous posts, and mine is not really going to be December Daily. Plan is for more of a weekly recording. http://www.scrapbooksandcows.blogspot.com
