Wonderful World of Colour: Colour Inspiration

Good Morning everyone, Lisa here! Hope you are up and ready for another day full of (Inter) National Scrapbooking Day fun and inspiration! :-)

I'm here to kick off Sunday with another post of colour inspiration and as we are well into spring now, even heading into summer, I thought I'd find something bright and fresh and reminiscent of the colours and feel of the season.

A Creative Mint is a wonderfully beautiful resource for inspirational photos with the most incredible colour schemes. And these are then brought together to form a mood collection such as the one below. Be inspired by the colours, the patterns, the products or all three.

I decided to make up a small page kit based on the inspiration above:

And then created the two pages below:

Because the inspiration moodboard was so fresh and white, I decided to make my first layout with just a couple of splashes of colour. This freebie Silhouette cutting file on top of my ombré effect paper was perfect for the look I wanted to achieve.

A small pile of green shades along with some softer embellies gives texture and dimension on this simple page.

My page kit was designed to be enough for at least two layouts so this time, I wanted to contrast the softer grey tones with some of the stronger colours that I'd added into the kit and also to find a way to use this die-cut card. As you'll see from the close-up, the quality of the cut isn't perfect but I love the wording and the design and decided that I didn't mind. The words are from one of my favourite songs ever which seemed appropriate for a page about my baby sister's little family.

For this second layout, I used the sketch that I'd featured on the CKC Sketchy Business post back on April 8th by Citrus Twist kits (here).

I actually ended up making three layouts with my mini-kit because I found the colours so inpsirational. Why not pop over to my blog (here) to see the last layout. We'd love to see what you create using this or any of the colour inspiration posts featured this weeked.

Don't forget that there's prizes to be won on each of the SIX Colour Challenges over the weekend here at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog - link up in the comments for each of those posts.
