Forgeries on the Fourth - April Tutorials

for·ger·y
ˈfôrjərē/
noun

  1. the action of forging or producing a copy of a document, signature, banknote, or work of art.

Welcome to "Forgeries on the Fourth" where it is no crime to create your own version of the trendy, hip products from the inspiration kit using your own stash and ingenuity.  Each month on the fourth, check out tutorials from your Master Forgers or links to resources they have found for you on the internet.

Our April kit-to-copy comes at you with a BANG this month!  Lots of bold, graphic simple prints perfect for forging.  In fact, many of our Master Forgers took on a very literal interpretation of the kit by creating close replicas of the almost "Pop Art" elements.  Take a look at the tutorials below and be sure to keep reading to see how YOU can put your forging skills to the test.

Leslie weighs in with a rather lengthy post HERE that encompasses papers & cards.

Do you have a digital cutting machine?
Our digi-queen, Angela, has a tutorial on how to make
your very own digital cutting files to forge those amazing journal cards.
Or perhaps you'd like to make some printable journal cards?
Angela shows us how to do that too.

Julene shows you how to make mini vellum envelopes using a template.
Her kit focuses on Vellum shapes this month.

And Lisa surprised herself by coming up with four different (but so very easy)
forgeries for items in the kit. You can find them all on her blog here

Margie  went in a different direction and forged some texture paste to use with her "Messy Box":

No time to forge, but still want to pull off a copycat?  Check out these free printables with a bold, graphic look.

Scroll down midway to this site HERE to find these black and whites.

  1. Spotted those downloads on Pinterest the other day, but decided that I have more than enough stuff to counterfeit with already. Going to keep them in mind for future projects though!

    1. It was inevitable. Yet the master forgers took it a step beyond to keep us stretching the creative muscles. But prehaps it is a good thing. The "I can do that" feeling has made forgers out of the most unlikely of us, I am sure.
