Getting Messy with April's Kit!

It is the 4th month of 2015!  Wait...what?  We are ready for some good weather here in Indiana (yes, it even SNOWED yesterday!!!!).  I feel the need to throw my windows open and do some hiking.  Right now I am snuggled up with a sweater and fuzzy socks.

Around here, April is a time for lots of rain, melting snow and MUD!  Let's get a little messy with our new kit!

A Beautiful Mess has a very fun kit called a Messy Box (we are doing the March one) that I fell in love with for this month!  (I believe our Master Forgers are learning to love it for my sake...thanks ladies!)

You can see their blog post about it HERE for some more ideas and HERE is a great unpacking videos of the box.  I am digging the black and white graphic feel for this month, especially since it is VERY different from the kits we have done.

We are thrilled to have Sharon joining us this month for some scrappy fun!  You can check out her blog, Scrapping Granny, to see what a treat you are in for this month!

I am a wife to Charlie the love of my life for 41 years now, mother to two wonderful children Shawna and Jason, both adults and on their own, and a "granny" to Callie and CJ two of the best grandchildren around. They are the subjects of most of my layouts.  We have lived in Hobbs, NM for most of our married life. We love to travel and I love taking pictures.  I started scrapping about 15 years ago and have not slowed down since.  I am addicted to paper and embellishments and have an extensive collection. I was very happy to find the CKC so hopefully I will use a lot of the stash I have been hoarding for several years now.  Recently I started following challenge sites and working on layouts using their prompts and sketches.  I found that sketches really help me get many more pages done than I would ever do left to my own ideas.  I am so flattered to be asked to be a guest designer. I hope everyone will be inspired to play along with us this month.
I am a child of God.

What is next?  Our kit reveal hop, of course!  Our Guest Designer and Master Forgers have already pulled together their kits and are ready to share them with you.  If you are just now giving us a try, this will be a great way to get your feet wet and see some ideas on how to pull together a kit that fits YOUR style from your stash.

You will want to be sure to check back often this month!  We have some great challenges and other things to keep you happy and creative!

End of the Month Blog Hop:
On the 24th of each month we offer a blog hop opportunity to all of our followers!  A chance for you to show off a special project made with your counterfeit kit for that month.

Here is how it will work:
Your Blog Hop Project may be from any of the 3 challenges we offer throughout the month.
Your project must be something new that you have not shown before and only post for the hop.

To be a part of our blog hop:
1.  E-mail us your name/blog address/promise to participate at  counterfeitkitchallenge@gmail.com  BY THE 18th!
(No late requests will be able to join due to the work it takes for us to get it put together.)

2.  You will receive an e-mail from us by the 20th with a list of the hop participants.

3.  You will need to schedule your own blog post showing your project
based on this challenge and links to the person after you in the hop.

  1. 'Wow, wow, WOW!!!! What a hop and what a selection of fabulous, incredibly creative kits! I am in awe of this team and how they take the inspiration and run with it. We all did something so very different but the inspiration kit can be seen across them all and I just know we are all going to have such fun working with them. Even if the process of interpretation was difficult this time around, there are some amazing kits out there that I know I'd buy for sure! Go us!!!

  3. Well this is definitely different! I'm going to have to 'think laterally' - not even sure I have any brights or blacks in my stash!

  4. Everyone's kits are so different and so right on. I can't wait to see how everyone uses their kits. It is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone. Thank you everyone for such sweet comments. I am so happy to be part of this club. I sure needed a bump to use up all the paper and supplies I have been hoarding. Thank you again!!!

  7. Wow - a very intriguing choice! It's killing me but I'm not looking at anyone else's kit yet - I don't want to be influenced by all the wonderful choices I'm sure everyone has made. I think I know where I'm going with this and as soon as I pull everything together, I'll be settling in to enjoy the blog hop and see everyone's beautiful kits. This is going to be a fun month!!
