When I thought of kicking off the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog's {I}NSD posts,
I wanted to give you something useful that has been a real "save" for me.
You know those pages that you finish & then step back for a look,
or take a photograph to post & then realize it doesn't look quite done?
Kind of like getting a stack of photos printed
but they don't really shine until they are framed.
Let's apply that principle to our pages!
The easiest thing to try is a simple thin solid-colored border.

Turn it up a notch with patterned paper.

Now try going a little wider (and bolder, in this case!)

LINK |
A simple stitched border, chosen as much to support
the textile theme as to finish off the page.
LINK |
A tiny strip of paper serves the same purpose
but also puts the brakes on the busy background.

Get the same effect with narrow washi tape.
LINK |
Or go bold & gold washi!
LINK |
A soft floral on top of patterned paper takes
advantage of the translucency of washi tape.
LINK |
Even a strip of washi top & bottom starts & stops your eye.
LINK |
A simple doodled border - even your
journaling would be great there, too.

I would be willing to bet that if you review your scrappy Pinterest
boards you will notice this principle in use in many of your faves.
Isn't it grand that we are all meeting up in cyberspace
to celebrate this wonderfully creative pursuit called scrapbooking?

A lot of inspiration there. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI agree that "framing" a page really adds the perfect finishing touch. Loved looking through all your samples. The "10 Things I Adore" page is one of my all-time favorites of yours - perfection!
