Memories of Christmas Past by Susan

Hello everyone! It's Susan and I'm here today with my memories of Christmas past post.

The idea is to make up a mini kit / page kit and a project highlighting a Christmas from the past. Try to use limited supplies to finish a single project.  We hope these short posts highlight that something can be created quickly and easily, even at this crazy busy time of year.  These ideas, of course, are transferrable to your own current Christmas projects.

I was organizing my box of Felicity Jane kit leftovers when I spied a few holiday items and thought they would be a great basis for a mini-kit for a scrapbook page.  Here's what I put together, including the photo I intended to use with my selections:

The Felicity Jane pieces are in the center - three 3x4 cards, a smaller black and white frame piece, and a snowflake circle and tab.  I pulled three 6x6 patterned papers (two from Crate Paper's Snow and Cocoa Collection and the reindeer print from Fancy Pants' Golden Days Collection).  For embellishments I included a sheet of puffy dot stickers from Fancy Pants' Millie and June Collection, a rubber tab from Dear Lizzy's Saturday Collection, orange polka dot washi tape (source unknown) and word phrase stickers, a silkscreen and acrylic paint from Ali Edwards.

I knew I'd be using a grid design (a frequent "go-to" technique for me) along with white cardstock so I began by using the silkscreen and pink paint to fill in two of the grid spaces.  I selected two of the Felicity Jane cards and cut two additional 3x4 pieces from two of the patterned papers.  I matted my photo with the third patterned paper, adhered all the base pieces of my grid and wrote my journaling.  I scattered some embellishments around the page and in less than 30 minutes, my page was done.

Technically my page topic isn't about a Christmas past but my photo is over a year old and features the two newest members of the snowman collection that I display at Christmas so I'm thinking I was close enough!

So if you're a little pressed for time this month but still want to scrapbook, using one of your favorite designs really speeds up the process.

I'll be back tomorrow with a post featuring a follower of Christmas present.
