Hmmm....what kinds of scrappy goodies do I hope to find under the tree on Christmas morning? I'm actually not sure! I've been flip-flopping over whether to add a Silhouette machine to my wish list. I'm drawn to all the lovely cut files and titles I've seen on layouts but I'm not sure I want to spend time learning how to do all that. I've been considering a new printer too so perhaps that is the better option.
I do know one thing I don't expect to unwrap on Christmas morning - patterned paper! I've looked back at my layouts over the last several months and the overwhelming majority of them were made with white cardstock as the background. I've been using patterned paper more as an embellishment and I still have a very good supply of it so I won't be adding that to my wish list this year.
Looking ahead to 2017, I hope to continue to keep my pages focused on the stories I want to tell. The story-focused pages are the ones that have the most meaning to me and I have a long list of tales yet untold.
I also hope to do more supply organizing in the new year. I cleaned out/donated quite a bit last spring and my next step would be finding a storage system that works for me. I would really like a scraproom of my own - our oldest is no longer living at home but hasn't completely moved out yet. Once she does, I will take over her room and slowly organize my supplies as I move in. I'd also like to reorganize the contents of my albums, but as that will take a lot of time and space, that will have to wait as well. All in good time though, right?
I hope that this holiday season finds you happy and healthy and that 2017 is a year filled with all good things!
All the best for those plans.Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Julene - same to you!
DeleteGreat plans you have :) I have the silhouette it's a great machine for scrapper to have :) especially with all those beautiful cut files coming out and really easy to learn too :) Organization is on my list of goals next year too as well as everything in it's own place and off the floor :) Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in that direction :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina - you're right about the beautiful cut files. There are so many pretty ones out there and I hope that Santa comes through for me. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one using the floor for storage too!
DeleteI love your emphasis on story-telling (and hope to be doing more of that myself in 2017) and really admire that your layouts are so personal and enduring x
ReplyDeleteSo Susan, did the Silhouette surface on Sunday? I am leaning towards getting one myself.
