A few changes here at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge (Part 2)

Yesterday I shared our new blog schedule that we are introducing as of February and I'm back today to share some of the details.

Like I said, we're not changing too much - we just recognised a few trends that made us think that we needed to tweak a few things.

So each month:
  • you will still get an inspiration kit to base your own monthly kit on
  • you will still get the Forgeries on the Fourth
  • you will still get the Master Forgers showing you their kits and what they've made with them
  • you will still get the chance to participate and share
But our biggest change is that only half the team will be making a full kit and participating in the full kit reveal blog hop on 1st of the month.

And what about the other half? No, they are not going to be sitting around twiddling their fingers!

They will be making some sort of a mini-kit, still based on the original inspiration kit, which they will share on the blog. The mini-kit might really be a mini-kit or other possibilities such as a page kit, a card kit, supplies for pocket page scrapping or even planners. They will share the supplies they've pulled and showcase a project they've made with it.

That way, the initial reveal blog hop will be smaller and more manageable to give your creativity an inspiration boost at the beginning of the month. And then, just a few days later, you'll get the mini-kit inspiration to show you some different possibilities and which reflect the different types of creativity that's going on out there! Double the fun and double the inspiration.

We are reducing the challenges to two and will be introducing a monthly column to amuse and inspire towards the end of the month.

And as an added bonus, Scribbles from my Scrap Studio will premiere this month already - you can find that on the blog on Monday (30th).

Again, our new regular blog calendar will look something like this:
  • 1st - Full inspiration kit reveal blog hop
  • 2nd - Just the Gist of It
  • 4th - Forgeries on the Fourth
  • 6th - Mini inspiration kit reveal and project
  • 12th - Challenge #1
  • 18th - Challenge #2
  • 24th - Scribbles from my Scrap Studio
  • 28th - Member showcase
And just a couple of updates relating to the team: Master Forger Jemma is taking a short sabbatical and we hope to have her back with us really soon, while MFs Lesley and Susanne are taking over some of the back office support for which I'm eternally grateful although I'll really miss their creations. I hope that they will kit, create and share from time to time but am so happy that they are still with us!

Everyone on the team is supporting me in the background with kit selection, blog posts, Facebook, Forgeries on the Fourth, the CKC Instagram account and so much more. I am blessed to be working with these awesome women. It takes a village round here for sure!

We all still love our happy creative home and hope that you, our followers, will continue to enjoy and participate in taking our inspiration and making it your own. You can still link up your projects from your own blogs on the Monthly Link Up Page but don't forget that you can also share in our Flickr Group or even on Instagram (@counterfeitkitchallenge) #counterfeitkitchallenge.

We will also be starting a Facebook Group to allow even easier sharing and interaction but I'd like to introduce these changes first before we get that up and running.

So please put your seat into the upright position, fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride!

  1. The new revamped CKCB timetable sounds like just what I need to kick my scrapping mojo into action. Looking forward to the 1st.

  2. I love the sounds of the new changes! Especially the mini kit idea. I do participate along with the blog, but have a bad habit of not sharing or linking up. Since we're in the theme of changing around here, maybe now's the time for me to make some changes as well, and actually start sharing. Especially since you now have so many ways of doing so. (I didn't realize you had Instagram. I can't use the "I don't want to fight with my computer and blog" excuse anymore. Ha ha!)

Thank you so much for all that you do. I know I don't say that as much as I should too, so I wanted to start with that change. :)

  5. Sounds good. I hope to start joining in with a mini kit... (as long as real life doesn't get in the way of crafting!)
