March 2019 - Just the Gist of It

Welcome back!

I hope you had a chance to hop through our reveal blog hop yesterday and saw the kits that our awesome Master Forger team and Guest Designer Susanne curated, and that you're now ready to start putting together one of your own.

Sometimes, even if we are totally inspired by the original kit and love the overall look of it, you don't really know where to start.

Colour? Pattern? Product? Theme?

Well, I'm here to help and I thought I'd share an approach that you might want to consider when gathering the supplies to make your March CKC kit.

Here's our inspiration:

Scrapbook And Cards Today "Blue Skies & Butterflies" Spring 2018 kit. Link HERE to see the unboxing video.

Let's think about the power of three and pick out the top three for a few aspects of the kit:

  • Three prominent colours:
    • Yellow
    • Green
    • Pink
  • Three prominent patterns:
    • Small, repeating
    • Gingham
    • Stripes
  • Three prominent products:
    • Patterned paper
    • Glitter words
    • Frames
  • Three prominent themes:
    • Butterflies
    • Florals
    • Spring-life

You could pick one of the categories and build a kit around the main three points. Or how about picking one item from each category? Concentrate on your colours or your themes or just pick a single idea and build the whole kit around that! However you do it, it'll be a perfect kit that you'll love because you're using products from your own stash and that what it's all about!

One, two, three... go for it!

I really hope this gave you an idea for where to start this month!

Don't forget that we love to see your kits and projects so you can show us through:

Come back here on the 4th - we'll be sharing how we made our own version of items in this month's kit in our infamous Forgery on the Fourth feature!

 See you then!

    1. Isn't it interesting how we see things so differently? I hardly noticed the red but of course, it's quite prominent now I look at it again - ha ha!
