Hello lovelies! In the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Facebook Community, we chatted recently about how we decide that we're done with a kit. Sometimes it's because we've used it all; sometimes it's because we're distracted by a new kit; and sometimes it's because 'we're just not that into it'. And how wonderful it is that when 'we're just not that into it' we can filter it back into our stash where it can be curated into a new kit!? That's honestly one of the best bits about our Counterfeit Kits!
When I first started to curate Counterfeit Kits (well before I was on the DT) I tried really hard to emulate the 'Inspiration Kits'. I would include LOT of stash and elements that I'd handmade. But, I often felt a bit overwhelmed and I would find that there was a lot leftover at the end of the month - especially papers, alphas and chunky embellishments. I never felt 'done'.

Over time I realised that, because I don't add a lot of titles to my layouts *and* I tend to work in smaller formats, that I would never use all of the alphas that I included in my kits, especially those chunkier, chipboard Thickers! So, instead of sifting them back into my stash at the end of the month, I sent them on to a friend that I knew would love them! And, I amended by buying habits too!
When I joined the DT, I looked back over some of my kits and realised that my favourites were small (sometimes really small) and tended to be fairly focused. I loved that I could make one or two layouts and then move on - with minimal leftovers! Not too much to tidy away at the end of a 'crafternoon' and not too much to sift back into my stash!
Eventually, I found my 'niche' with our Mini Counterfeit Kits and I'll often build them, based on the same ideas as the rest of the DT - colour, theme, etc - but on a much smaller scale. I'll often include a selection of leftovers from other kits, or recent craft sessions, and then add in one or two embellishments that I'd really like to use, especially if they have entered my stash recently!
Now, with a little less 'overwhelm' at the start of the month and a much better idea of the elements that I want to include in my kit (and elements that I will use) I tend to use every last, little bit of my kits! Whether I make one layout or twenty (ahem, I could never make twenty!) I always feel like I'm 'done'.
