July 2022 - Mini-kit Reveal & Projects

Hello everyone. Mini kits are great if you want quick projects, or if ideas are sparked by just small bits of the inspiration. Whatever your reasons for approaching mini kits, we have MF Kate and MF Laurie to help you out with that

As a reminder, Master Forger Tina chose the May 2022 kit called "May 2022 ROUND TRIP 12 x 12 Add-On Kit" by Citrus Twist kit club as our inspiration for this month.

Master Forger Kate here with my mini kit! I was more drawn to the colors of the inspiration kit than the theme so I dug into all my vintage Maggie collections, mainly the Shine collection:

I focused on making a small summer kit with pinks,  greens and florals...I added a mix of summer elements from my Maggie stash, a pack of Heidi Swapp summer puffies, and a sheet of travel stickers from the original MH Round Trip kit:

Master Forger Laura says, " I decided to make my own travelers notebook with my mini kit, (keeping in line with the travel theme!) however, with no travels on the horizon for me at the moment, I think I am going to use it for a journaling project! I love how pretty the floral paper looked as a cover!"

She certainly has a cute kit made up for here Traveler's notebook and here is the front cover of the book:

The rest of July is going to look something like this:

  • 12th & 18th July: Challenges #1 & #2 - to inspire you to get creating from your own kit
  • 24th July: Follower Showcase - who has caught our eye this month
  • 31st July: Killing Kits - an idea or two for using up the bits & pieces left in your kit box

We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. Post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcjuly2022).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
