April 2023 - Just The Gist of It

 Are you ever stumped about where to start a kit build? I'm here to give a simple idea on how to start this month's kit. As a reminder, here is the inspiration kit we are working from.

I chose the SCT Sampler Kit from April 2022. These kits, from the Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, are pint sized collections. The company's kit reveal is done via an SCT blog post. You will need to scroll to the bottom of the blog post to see the actual kit. But here are the images of the kit and some more detailed images straight from the manufactures' themselves.

Let's Be Inspired

One of the things I do when I start a kit is to just browse the main image and note anything that catches my attention right away. For this gist post I wanted to focus on that rainbow cake!

I've never built a rainbow kit, so that is what I am going to do! I'm not going to worry about any themes or icons in particular. I will consider some tags, ephemera, and ribbons as seen in the kit. That is a very simple list to work with and can help alleviate any overwhelm. With that in mind, here is what I pulled.

The Final Items

I ended up with a rainbow of papers, enamel dots, ribbons, flowers and journaling spots/tabs. Plus a white alpha to work across the whole collection. I hope you feel that kitting does not have to be complicated. Pick one idea, make a short list of add-ins and go.
