May 2023 - Forgery on the Fourth

We are back today to give you an idea or two to create your own kit items.

Here's the original kit again.

Now to see what our master forgers have done:

Master forger Julene found a leaf paper, but it was too dark and bright.

She used white acrylic paint over the top to lighten it.

Another forgery is using scraps of neutral papers with a stamp to replicate the bundle in the original kit.

I came up with a third idea using up more scraps.

I cut out a bracket shaped tag and traced out several on scraps of green cardstock scraps. Next I added small pieces of patterned paper then cut out to shape. Tear one edge and you have tags ready for journalling or decorating.

Master Forger Brandi was inspired to create Titles, Frames and Tabs using her Cricut to mimic similar items in the inspiration kit!

Master Forger Tara actually created a design to make the stencil in the kit, but she can't find the right material to cut it out with on Cameo.  She will cut it out of cardstock so she can at least use it on one of her layouts!!

Master Forger Tara also already owned the Lori Whitlock title cutfile in her Silhouette Studio Library so she cut a few of those out and then stacked them to make a Thickers-like title.

Master Forger Misty was inspired by the "wonky" florals and the geotag ephemera to create her own versions. The geotags were created with the steps that follow.

First punch a 1" circle, cut a 1" by 1.25" rectangle. Draw a "v" from the center point to each corner of the rectangle. Then sketch in a curve to replace the point. (Experiment with other sizes. There are rather large geotags.)

Fussy cut out.

Glue circle to "triangle" so that the edges are as flush as possible.

Trace geotag shape on the back of scraps of paper. Fussy cut.

Flip shapes to the front, stamp & decorate as desired.
