June 2024 - Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy!

Master Forger Laurie here with our monthly sketch challenge. This is the sketch I chose to work with this month. Remember, a sketch is just a jumping off point, you don't have to follow it exactly, or you can. Whatever works for you.

I had already finished my kit papers so went with a travel/history theme.

These photos were taken near Captain Cook's first landing place in Australia. It is a whale watching area now.

I used an old map paper as my central circle plus neutrals to match the rocks and water..

My embellishments were old postal/maps/compass

Hello crafty friends. I used the sketch to document my niece's 11th birthday. The rainbow was perfect to add that feminine feel for the all girl picture.  I decided to only use blue and pink. Mostly because the picture is filled with neutral colors. I was able to use up plenty of my kit by adding layers behind my photo even on the bottom. I created a process video if you would like to see it all come together.

Hello!  I absolutely loved this sketch and the cut file to go along with it.  I created a page to document my great niece starting to crawl. I love the subtle pink background paired with the more vibrant colors in the kit, plus the touch of black.  The flowers add an even more feminine touch to the layout.

Master Forger Ryann used the sketch to make a "double rainbow" for the art shop she walked through on her honeymoon.  The papers from this kit really leant itself to a little "artsy" feel when layered this way, and turned out to be the perfect sketch for these photos - despite the fact that her honeymoon was in December, and this was not the most intuitive color scheme for many of those photos!
