January 2026 - Challenge #4 Baby, Use Those Scraps!

Hello!  It's the last challenge of the month.  It's time to use up those scraps from your counterfeit kit. Whether it's a scrapbook page, a card or an embellishment cluster, you can do many things with scraps of paper or a few leftover embellishments.

Let's take one last look at the inspiration kit, Curiosities in Willow Grove by Vicki Boutin.

Let's look at what our Guest Designer and Master Forgers created with their scraps.

Guest Designer Melinda

Melinda was able to create a double page layout with her scraps.  She made good use of her scraps by cutting them into hexagons.

Master Forger Amanda

I ended up with quite a few scraps and some larger pieces this month -- so I choose to use the 1" strips in the fern paper to border an 8x12 inch piece. I also had enough to mat my photo with a scrap, and had a background paper to match left in my kit! I even got one of my forgeries on this page!  I love using scraps that I have put together in a kit, because they usually go so well together! My process is available to see here.

Master Forger Misty

I'm sneaking in here today! I created several pieces out of my scraps for this layout: die cut letters, banner for my title, background layers for my photos and the small banners I used to fill in the grid. Leftovers are good for so many things!

It's been a true pleasure being your hostess for the month.  I hope this month gave you the inspiration to create your own counterfeit kit, forgeries and to participate in the challenges.  Be sure to come back on the first of February when Master Forger Amanda takes over the blog and shows us a new inspiration kit.  It's sure to get those creative minds working overtime.

November 2025 - Challenge #4 - Baby, Use Those Scraps

It's time for the final challenge of November! But first, let's take a look at our monthly inspiration kit again - October Glow by Cocoa Daisy

As always, we end the month with a scraps challenge! Let's see what the team came up with this month.

Guest Designer Lisa

Master Forger Amanda

When completing my layouts this month - I realized that for one of my layouts I had way more pictures than I had thought I had to scrapbook with the layout -- so it is a great time to use up my scraps! I decided to make a 9x12 pocket page layout as a companion to the other layout to tie in what I had done, and still get those pictures on layouts! I also included a picture of the layout that I was making the companion pockets for.

Misty didn't have many scraps leftover. She used paper tearing small portions to create a border for her circular layout.

October 2025 - Challenge #4 Baby Use Those Scraps

Wow wow wow! Where did October go! Here we are at the last challenge of the month but 1st one last look at the kit again

The last challenge is to use up some of those scraps you have been piling up throughout the month. The one challenge where we let the scraps shine here a Counterfeit Kit Challenge

 Master Forger Amanda

I really love making smaller bits from my scrap papers.  On this layout, I took some of the smaller paper pieces and made tags, the blue stripped one is only the corner and top that is showing for the leftover piece which makes my paper supplies go pretty far! I love making a page from scraps when you have put yourself a kit together, because it usually all goes together already!

Master Forger Tina

Just used a couple of scraps from her kit on this layout

When I cut into papers I really try to save a section that remains 12 inches long. That way I can use them as border strips. This layout is a perfect example of using those scraps in this way. Plus extra portions I can die cut arrows and tags out of.

A big thank you to Lori Stroup for being our Guest Master Forger this month, it's been a joy to have you back even if it was only for the month :)
Come back in a couple of days for our November Inspirational Kit reveal

We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. Post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcoctober2025).
