Been Caught Stealing-September 2011 Guest Designer

Introducing our guest designer for September 2011...Lisa!

"Hi! I’m Lisa and I’m thrilled and very flattered to have been asked to be the Guest Designer this month. I *love* it here at Counterfeit Kit Challenge and have had such a lot of fun over the last few months while I’ve been playing along so it was wonderful to be asked!

I’m old enough not to have to tell you how old (!) and live with my adorable husband in the Ruhr area of Germany. I’m originally from Birmingham in the UK but moved 10 years ago for lurve. I love it here and am more than happy with my life which features very often in my scrapbook pages.

I’ve been making stuff since forever but moved into scrapbooking at the beginning of 2006 and immediately realised that this was the creative outlet I’d been looking for – photos, pretty paper and memories. Heaven.

I used to be on the design team of Bellaboo.co.uk when it was owned by my sister and have been published in the UK in The Scrapbook Magazine. I’m a class junkie and take as many as I can over at Big Picture Classes, which is very much how I’ve developed my scrapbooking style. I like to layer, distress, cluster and generally fill the page – white space scares me! J  I like to scrap the everyday as well as the unusual and I think I capture moments and snippets of my life more than anything else. I’m a challenge addict too, am very active in LOAD (run by Lain Ehmann) and have recently started a weekly challenge with a fellow LOADster turned friend. This hobby has brought so many wonderful people into my life through blogs, classes and challenges – I love the fact that I sit here in Germany and have connected with talented women from all over the world. Isn’t modern technology combined with this wonderful hobby amazing?

I used to subscribe to kits, which often sat on a shelf unused for months and months. I loved receiving them and seeing the great mix of products but using them up was another story. Counterfeit Kit Challenge is a perfect way for me to shop my stash to create the kits that I’ve been missing. Using my own papers and embellishments means that the kit will be full of products I love and also that I can target older, neglected items to mix in with the more exciting new purchases. The mini-challenges always get my brain working and help me ensure the kit is used up throughout the month. I love it all!

I can’t wait to see what this month brings.

  2. Hi Lisa, I so agree with you about "shopping" through your stash to make up kits - it's a great way to make sure older stuff actually gets used. I'll be looking out to see what you come up with.
BTW, I used to Love Bellaboo... that was the first online scrap shopping I ever did - and the first kit I ever bought! Say "Hi" to Liberty for me?!
