Counterfeiting Hexagons and Die Cuts

Hexagons are a hot trend right now and it is easier than ever to add them to your projects!  Embossing folders, punches, die cut machines, masks, even hand cutting them yourself.  There are a lot of ways to get creative with Hexagons.

Hexagon Inspiration and Ideas

Hexagon Templates:

Next up is die cuts!  I love those cute packs filled with tickets, arrows, tabs and doo dads.  They are SO easy to recreate at home!
Some of my favorite ways?
Use punches and scrap paper to make some easy shapes to use.
Fussy cut shapes out of patterned papers with larger prints or even greeting cards!
Use a die cut machine to cut out a variety of shapes and sizes!  (I have a new Cricut Imagine and am have LOTS of fun doing this!)
A lot of paper packs come with sheets of tags and journaling spots.  I have a tray of those that I can sort through for shapes that I want.
Stamp and color some images and cut them out.
Attach Stickers to card stock and trim them up to give yourself some more versatility.
Pinterest is also a great resource for printables you can cut out and use!  Here are some of my favorites!

And here are some tutorials:

You can make up any number of them and put them into little themed bags ready to be used in one of your kits.  How cute would that be?
And how about a little contest?   I will send a mixture of homemade die cuts (using the above resources) to one of our followers!  How can you enter?  Just comment on this post (once per person please) and I will draw a name and share the winner at our Counterfeit Blog Hop on the 25th!

  1. I'm a fussy-cutter myself and tend to cut out things like flowers and stars for embellishments. I still have yet to do something with hexagons but I do like them.

  8. I recently decided to put all my cut-up journaling papers together and possibly sit and pre-cut them. I get so lazy when it comes to cutting things up so if they are pre-cut I use them. I do the same with Cricut cut, cut a pile of fashionable cuts in a neutral colour and plonk them on my desk. Printables are the one thing that have yet to grab me even though they are great - maybe because it means I have to go hook up the printer! Now that I am not spending money on craft supplies I am certainly being forced to go back to all these techniques, many of which I used when I started crafting.
