Wonderful World of Color: Challenge #3 Adding Color Through Embellishments

Whew! This post wraps up our first day of the CKC weekend blitz celebrating National Scrapbook Day. What a whirlwind of inspiration, instruction & creative energy has been flying through cyberspace today! I hope you have had time to view each of our posts. Be sure to read all the way through as we have many special sur-PRIZE opportunities for you.

When we choose our embellishments & accents for our pages
or projects we can make better choices by considering the impact
of their color on our overall page design.

Not only do the red polka dots tie in with her dress but they
set a playful tone along with the polka dot & happy sky
washi tapes. The sky washi was actually a bit of camouflage
for a mustache image that was showing through!

The accent colors were chosen to give a masculine vibe
to this otherwise neutral layout. Although there is a girl
in the photo, the story is told from a boy's perspective.

Color can support a theme, as in a Christmas page.

Sometimes you just need a tiny hit of color
to add some extra visual interest.

Icy, no? It only took that smattering of blue.

Even when your page is already colorful you
can add your visual triangle with an accent color...

...or highlight your photo.

I promised you at the beginning of this post a sur-PRIZE opportunity!
Now it's your turn to create a layout focusing on colorful embellishments.
This challenge is being sponsored by Laserbird who is offering a $25 gift certificate to one lucky scrapper who links up a project in the comments to *THIS* post by midnight May 16th MST.  Winner will be announced here on May 20th.

I can't wait to see how you make your embellies POP!

Good Luck! Leslie

    1. The single pop of color brought the eye right to that adorable paper clip & started my eye round your page. The journaling as balloon strings was really a genius touch.

    1. Wonderfully bold color scheme - I think the fact that a lot of it is lace really softens it up yet gives an edgy texture. A total fave!
