Wonderful World of Colour - Colour Confidence

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great colour filled weekend with us all. My name is Angela, and I want to share some things with you today that created for my assignments as part of an on-line class with Cilenia Curtis, called Building Color Confidence. It's a self paced class, with downloadable materials and videos. All students have access to a special gallery and forum for sharing assignments to get feedback and for asking questions. Cilenia even supplies her email address for contacting her directly.

I've always loved crafting and art, but never been really confident about choosing colours. Cilenia's class has solved that for me now. Here are two colour schemes I created from my own photos.

Cilenia taught me lots about picking out colours, and how colours work with texture. She even has a really fantastic way of helping me remember how to use a colour wheel, she uses family relationships to describe the colour combinations instead of those complicated terms my school art teacher used. In the two swatches below I've taken one colour from the flowers and then used the colour wheel to pick the remaining colours.

Feel free to use any of these colour schemes for your scrapbooking this month, and here's a link to the website for the class preview video if you want to find out about it.

Blessings to you all from Angela.

  1. digital stuff always seems scary to me....maybe its more the thought if I get into it, then my traditional scrapping would suffer???.... however.... I doooooo love your palettes and how attractive you've made your flowers and swatches look in the 'file' style... I really envy that... what a great way to get your colour choices....
This is a reeeeeeally pretty post too!
Had a look at the class....its soooooooooo tempting!!!!

  2. This is a fantastic tutorial Angela. I will keep those colour schemes handy for sure.

  3. Loved each of the tutorials and will need to do the challenges yet, it was fun to spend the weekend with your blog here.

  4. Love these combinations and will check out the link later, thanks for the inspiration Angela :o)

  5. Very clever to use your own photos :)

  6. Love the yellows and purples scheme - may have to try it out! :)
