for·ger·y
ˈfôrjərē/
noun
  1. the action of forging or producing a copy of a document, signature, banknote, or work of art.

Welcome to "Forgeries on the Fourth" where it is no crime to create your own version of the trendy, hip products from the inspiration kit using your own stash and ingenuity.  Each month on the fourth, check out tutorials from your Master Forgers or links to resources they have found for you on the internet.

What have our Master Forgers cooked up this month?
Let's take a look at what they were inspired to create from this month's inspiration kit courtesy of Studio Calico:

Studio Calico Pop Art Scrapbook Kit

Susanne has created or altered her own Project Life Cards to play up the diamond shape which was repeated in the kits.  First, she added a matching wood veneer shape to a pre-printed card, both by Studio Calico, so they match perfectly. Then she topped it with square clipped corner buttons for even more interest.  She also mimicked a tone on tone card from one of the PL add-on kits by stamping on cardstock with matching ink - Pretty in Pink by Stampin Up, and cutting out the card shape with a thin metal die from Becky Higgins.

Check out her blog for other pocket cards which she has stepped up with embellishments.

The card kit featured some fun scratch cards which you can forge for yourself using this tutorial from Art Mind.

The main scrapbook kit had a grid patterned paper in it. If you don't have any grid papers in your stash, you can easily make your own by printing a graph PDF (link here) onto a sheet of cardstock.

Cindy, our lovely guest designer has a variety of impressive tutorials for your viewing pleasure.  Check out her blog HERE to get all the details!

I'll let you in on a little secret...Lynnette mimicked the gold dot paper as revealed below using some simple tools.  Check out her blog HERE to learn how simple!

Leslie tackled papers & a whole lot more HERE.

Try your hand at one of these simple forgeries and share with us on our September Mr. Linky!

Forge on, my friends!
