January Hop & Poll

It's that time of the month again - our Members' Blog Hop!
You've been shopping your stash and creating with our challenges and now you get to share with everyone.
Which of this month's challenges did you choose?

Was it...
Challenge #1: What makes you smile!
Challenge #2: Matching card and tag
Challenge #3: Get your stamp on!.... Get your stamp on!

Or did you go get creative in a different way - we're happy whatever you chose to share!

Hop over to our keen scrappers to see what they made:

Jemma - just-jimjams.blogspot.co.uk
Cindy - cindyscreations-cinmfoster.blogspot.com
Julene - julenebydesign.blogspot.com.au
Tina - tinasscrapcorner.blogspot.com
Lisa - lisahausmann.blogspot.de

Happy hopping!

P.S. As you will see the hop is quite short ... so we were wondering if the Members' Blog Hop is still something you like and whether there is something we can do to encourage more of you to join in ... OR ... should we dispense with it? Please vote in our poll (with multiple answers if that makes more sense), perhaps letting us know more in the comments so that we can make some changes.

Thank you :-)

Members' Blog Hop - Do we continue?

  1. Even though the list is short but I still love hopping to see what others created and love all the inspiration shared!

  2. Maybe a scavenger hunt :) Just a thought. You know I love the blog and the hops and will continue to play along as much as I can :) Not sure how to get others to join in

    2. I loved the hop where we had to guess which master forger was represented. I go about two correct.

    3. Tina, thanks for the suggestion. Adding it to the pot. I'm sure it's been mentioned before so I'll keep the idea going. We love it when you join in so thanks for your contributions :-)

  3. I wonder if it would help people join if there was more time from the beginning of the month when we put together our kits and the due date for the hop? I just participated in posting my kit for the first time this month, but I find the short time frame intimidating. Or maybe less frequent hops? A quarterly round-up, for example? =)

    1. Welcome Mary! Kits used to be announced on the 5th. I am sooo glad the now debut on the 1st. I get really excited the last week of the month. I have participated in a handful of hops. I think personally I like to see what other have done, more than show off my work. BUT, I know that I have an obligation to contribute (as able) to give back to the group, for a couple of reasons. 1. To possibly inspire someone else. 2. To thank the group for all the inspiration they have afforded me. Thinking about what you said about the due date.....and hopping you stick around to become an old hand here, you will find the date is about the same every month. If you set the intention to contribute to hop, then you will orchestrate your world, to be in that hop. (I hope that doesn't sound condescending. It's not) And now I am off to go see your first kit post.

    2. Hey Mary!
Welcome and great that you got a kit made! We love to see new faces and I will also be popping over to see your kit as soon as I'm done here.
We have considered quarterly round ups so we can add that to the list of possible ideas.
We always post the new kit to counterfeit on the 1st with forgeries presented on the 4th in case our members need some ideas on how to interpret some of the items. Challenges to inspire come on the 6th, 12th and 16th with sign up for the hop usually around the 18th.
The hop itself isn't until the 24th which we find is a nice boost for the readers towards the end of the month before they get ready for the new kit!
Very often, people like to sign up for the hop even if they are not actually sure what they will make/post and find that this gives them the motivation to get something made to share on 24th! It's such a great feeling to post something and get the love and validation of your fellow scrappers!
But your comments are great and exactly what we were hoping for when we posted the survey. We want to hear what you think in case there are some changes we can make so that your experience is better :-) Thanks for the contribution
Now off to see your kit!

  4. Hey, lets be realistic. While I would like my life to revolve around CKC and the dear friends I have made here (and those I hope yet to make strong connections with) there is much to keep up with on line, regarding blogs, facebook, groups, challenges, etc, etc.

While I would like to visit each person on a hop and comment. Sometimes I just visit,no comment and sometimes I don't even get to visit. So......from my perspective, a small hop (even if only 3-5 members contribute) is less daunting for me to approach.

Lets hear it for the SMALL HOP REVOLUTION!

  5. I personally like a smaller hop-it's more manageable with busy schedules and I've been working hard to NOT be up at 1 am reading blogs...sometimes other sites have like 20+ people on their hops and it's a pain! Love seeing what the DT has done with their kits even when I'm behind making mine. It motivates me to get in gear!

    2. Thanks Kate - I like a manageable hop too - I don't want people to feel it's a chore to hop around!

  7. Instead of voting i thot i would just comment. First thing is i do not have a blog, so i do not sign up. I have to tell you that i sometimes forget to come over here and check things out. When i do remember- i often click but don't comment. i am re-teaching myself to take the extra time to sign in and do my best to comment during the kit hop{note to Kelly: I do not know where to comment on your blog}. I enjoy this blog. Often if there is a bigger line-up i just take an extra day to get through the hop. {{joyce}}
