April 2020 - Challenge #2 - And I Quote!

Hello! Hello! Are you ready for some fresh inspiration from the Master Forgers and our wonderful Guest Designer? Hopefully, we'll be able to kick start your weekend crafting, with a journalling challenge!

One of the elements that I loved the most from this month's inspiration kit was the beautiful stamp set, so full of lovely sentiments. We'd like you to use the sentiments included in the stamp set as inspiration for your own journalling. You can choose to use the sentiments themselves; work with them as a title; or let them inspire your own story telling.

Let's see how our Guest Designer, Mel Davis, chose to interpret the challenge. Mel says "I was drawn to the stamp set 'So This Happened' and decided to tell the story of when my daughter dislocated her shoulder. I have also used the speech bubble dies I added to my kit to create embellishments with stamped sentiments. I added a bit of stitching for texture, also using one of the threads I had included." I think Mel has rocked this challenge, don't you?

Master Forger Tara chose the long quote from the stamp set to inspire her layout and you can see how she got her inspiration on her blog at Tara's Ramblings.

Master Forger Tracey picked some of the smaller quotes to start her journalling and, as emphasis, on labels of what a great moment this was in her youngest daughters life.

Master Forger Tina used two of the quotes with in her clusters to add to the journaling, also sticking with stamping from the stamp set she had in her counterfeit kit. One was almost identical to the the one they had about the best life. To see more about this layout go to her blog Tina's Scrap Corner.

Master Forger Laura chose her sentiment to chronicle her love of early mornings on camping trips.

Master Forger Leslie used the b-side of one of her kit papers to begin documenting the living history being experienced by the world. You can read more on her blog, Out of the Mire.

Here's what we'll be sharing a little later this month:
  • April 24th: I'll be showcasing one of the CKC community who's caught my eye this month
  • April 30th: We'll be offering another instalment in our Killing Kits Series to help you find ways to use up all of your kit.
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcapril2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!
