September 2020 - Just the Gist of It

Hello everyone! This month I've chosen the August Flavors of the Month kit from The Scraproom as our inspiration kit.

I liked the idea of having papers and embellishments for everything that is happening this month. We have school themes, Bar-B Que themes, Nature theme and a general kid theme.

We all start our kits differently. I like to have papers that cover the A and B sides, as I scrap in groups of three (2 - 12x12's layouts and an 8 1/2x11 layout). Here goes looking at the A and B Sides of the papers.

We have stripes, vertical and diagonal, in three of the four kits, but you could also include the plaid and banner paper in the triple category.

For the tone on tone papers, the ones with a subtle shape on a solid, we have Bar-B- Cute food icons on the Snow Cone Stripe, Bro and Co the triangles on It’s All Good paper, the plus signs on the You Rock paper, from School Rules collection the stars on the Alphabet paper, and finally the plants on the Nature Lover paper from the Simple Vintage Great Escape collection.

Of course we have the icon paper –Bar-B-Que elements on Picnic in the Park from Bar-B-Cute Collection,  Owl paper from School Rules, the backside of Student plaid is paper pencils rulers, from Bro and Co we have the stars on It’s All Good, banners on You Rock paper, butterflies on Time For Adventure and mushroom on Nature Lover from the Simple Vintage Great Escape collection.

When the inspiration kit is broken down like this it is amazing how the papers can be mixed and matched within the four separate kits.

Here's what we have coming up this month:

  • September 4th: We’ll have our “Forgery on the Fourth” post where the Master Forgers will reveal how they created their own version of some of the items in this month’s kit.
  • September 6th: We’ll reveal of mini kits and projects in case you’re a little limited for time this month and would prefer a more petite kit.
  • September 12th and 18th: We’ll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you’ve made.
  • September 24th: I’ll be showcasing one of the CKC Community who’s caught my eye they month.
  • September 30th: Another Killing Kit Installment to help us finish off our kits!

We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can use our Monthly Link-up page, post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcseptember2020).

Thanks so much for stopping by! We can't wait to see your kits and projects this month!

  1. What a great explanation! I’ve made notes to help me with my own kit! Thanks Cindy.
