Our Inspiration Kit:
Let's see their kits and creations, shall we?
Hello lovelies! I could have taken this month's kit in several different directions, but in the end I decided to focus on the Simple Stories 'Vintage Great Escape' selection included (and went a little further to check out the rest of the collection.) I found that I loved all of the nature based elements of the collection and that it reminded me of the Carta Bella 'Spring Market' collection.
So, my kit started with a small selection of 12 x 12 sheets, the sticker sheet and the die cuts from that collection. I then added a small set of embellishments from Jen Hadfield's 'Homemade' collection - which included the same colours and nature based elements. I didn't include an alpha, as I don't use them all of the time. If I need one, I'll choose one that works with whatever I've made once it's done!
Master Forger Clair will be back with her completed project later as she is under the weather.
Master Forger Lisa decided to get inspired by the wonderful sneak peek mood board which is always showcased over on the CKC Instagram feed and the FB community. She needed some cards for specific occasions and to stock up. So with this in mind, she found herself picking a few Simple Stories papers as a start - a plaid, some stars, a scrap of banners - and then picked out other Simple Stories papers, embellishments and alphabets to go along with that. A handful of scraps, some leftover vellum word die-cuts from a previous kit, a couple of doilies and the "mini" kit was complete. Yes, her mini-kits are always a little bigger than most but several of these papers were scraps and the two cut-apart sheets were added for card topper variety!
Master Forger Cindy pulled inspiration from the strip paper in the kits , Echo Parks School Rules Collection - School theme and Simple Stories "Simple Vintage Great Escape" the Time for Adventure paper to put her mini kit together.
With these mini kits she made three separate mini projects.
Here's what else we have coming up this month:
- September 12th and 18th: We’ll give you two challenges to help you use the kit you’ve made.
- September 24th: I’ll be showcasing one of the CKC Community who’s caught my eye they month.
- September 30th: Another Killing Kit Installment to help us finish off our kits!
This month's inspiration kit is diverse so the possibilities are endless! It's great to see how Clair, Lisa, and Cindy have pulled out pieces from their assembled larger kits to focus on elements for their projects.
