This month, we are being inspired by a Citrus Twist Kit from March 2020 called "Weekender".
It's a nice sized kit, but what if you don't have time for a large kit? Or maybe you want a smaller kit for a project that you have in mind? Never fear! Master Forgers Laura and Misty have got your backs!
Laura says, “ As soon as i saw the inspiration kit it made me think of the dear lizzy stay colorful collectiin from a few years back. I have this as a digital collection so put togther a little digital mini kit to use.
I love watching heidi swapp doing her stamping on instagram, but i do not have a lot of mixed media supplies in real life. I do however, have digital mixed media supplies, so had a crack at my own 'heidi' style digital tags. Love how they turned out and i could totally print them and usd them on a project! Less messy too!“
She is creating a traveler's notebook this month to keep track of her garden plans and progress. She needs to keep track of many things, including varieties planted, dates planted, locations of moved items, and weather info.
All this should help her garden look & produce its best!
She started her mini with some digital files (Traci Reed: Here Comes the Sun part 1, Here Comes the Sun part 2, and The Love List) and mixed and matched flowers and journaling spots to create her own sheet of cut out elements. These reminded her of the daisies and many ephemera pieces in the inspiration.
She pull together the rest of her kit including a traveler's notebook and insert, some partial sheets of paper (Simple Stories, Amy Tan, Vicki Boutin, Lawn Fawn), a bit of washi tape, month stamps (Stampin' Up) and stickers sheets (Jen Hadfield, Paige Evans) next.
She picked up the yellows, greens and pops of reds from the Citrus Twist Kit, though in different tones.
I should note that she did go back to February and do some decorating and recording for that month using bits of her February kit and bits of this mont's mini.
THEN she got to work with her March mini kit for her March month of record keeping. Each month will start off with the date label and a few things that are making her happy in the garden.
After that she will leave space to list plans for the month and a space to record what actually got accomplished for the month. She tucked all her extra supplies into the pockets of the notebook cover to use for next month.
Here's what we have left to inspire you for the month of March!
- 12th March - Challenge #1
- 18th March - Challenge #2
- 24th March - Follower Showcase
- 31st March - Killing the Kit
We always love to see your work, so please share your kits and projects with us. You can post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcmarch2022).
