June 2023 - Just The Gist Of It!

 Hi!  Master Forger Tara here!  As you know, I did the June Inspiration Kit Reveal yesterday.  Are you stuck with what to do with your own stash?  Do you not like the inspiration kit?  Are the colors just not your thing?  Never fear!  We can talk about those things and help you to find a kit that suits you the best for this month!  First, let me remind you of the kit that I chose!

The Friendship Collection by Weeds & Wildflowers Supply Company

 I chose this kit because I really love the colors and adding in the black and white pieces will make all of those lovely colors just POP off of your page!  Let me break down the colors in this kit for you using a color palette generator!  Maybe this will help you find papers that you LOVE in your own stash!

 Does that single out some of the colors for you?  Maybe you need something more specific?  How about suggestions for collections that you might already own?  Some Days from PinkFresh Studios has quite a few of these colors with an added bonus of red!  

Simple Stories has a few different collections with a similar color palette!  This Valentine's Day collection called Heart Eyes would definitely work!

A few others from Simple Stories are Summer Farmhouse, Hello Today, Full Bloom, Summer Lovin', and Retro Summer.  These all have some similar colors and if you already own them, this would be a wonderful way to get some of these collections you've been hoarding used!  Ahem....pointing fingers at myself here!  

Bella Blvd also has some great collections that would work! How about their Squeeze the Day collection?  It's bright and fun!

I personally put a couple of pieces from Bella Blvd collection, Let's Go On An Adventure, into my own kit.  You could mix or match any of my suggestions!!  

I am sure I could go on and on about specific collections that you might have in your stash, but let's move on to the icons in this kit!  If you don't have girl photos to scrapbook at this moment, or you aren't a flowery girl, there's several generic type icons including hearts, arrows and tabs.  If hearts aren't your thing, you could always change them out to stars!  Those are a fab piece to decorate your layouts with!  You can make a list of the icons in the Inspiration Kit and go through your stash with those in mind!

One of my go to moves in curating a kit from my own stash, is to look at the papers that are in the Inspiration kit.  If I own a paper in the kit, then I will pull it and try to match that paper with others in my stash.  Unfortunately, I do NOT own a single thing from this kit because I am not a digital scrapper at all!  Here's a reminder of the papers for you!

You can also start with a product that you know you will use this month, such as a pack of enamel dots in the color palette and then just create your kit from that!  I hope that you did the Social Media Hop and checked out what the guest designer, Stacy, and each of the other Master Forgers did to create their kits this month! You might be surprised at the inspiration one of their kits will give you.
