Spotlighting one of our followers is the best part of hosting Counterfeit Kit Challenge!
This month our Facebook community was a Who's Who of Master Forgers, leading me to believe there will be a whole lot of summer/vacation pages in the next month or two from everyone else!
My standout for July is Sheryle Thomas, who did some wonderful pages this month and started out with this FABULOUS kit:
Perfect colorful retro vibe to represent the inspiration kit.
Her first layout as well as some others was designed using a sketch.
What an adorable baby boy themed page! Love the stencil paste on the background. It always thrills my heart to see older photos scrapped with our modern kit inspirations!
#2: I love how Sheryle's pretty product choices don't keep her photos from playing the starring role.
#3: This is her take on Challenge #1 A Face In The Crowd, to focus on a particular person in a group photo. Sheryle used a finger pointing piece of ephemera - clever! And more background work.
#4: Bright & happy with lots of tiny details to discover, and another mixed media background.
#5: A feature on how Fluffy has become a snuggle bug. Love the large title & diecuts.
Sheryle says: I love the inspiration of trying to put together counterfeit kits from my stash and then making layouts. The challenges are so fun and I enjoy making the forgeries. I usually get carried away making the forgeries so I have them for many more projects. This is a wonderful group of talented and supportive people.
Thank you, everyone, for joining in this month! Only one more date on our July calendar.
- 31st July: Killing Kits - an idea or two for using up the bits & pieces left in your kit box
If you are still creating with this month's kit it is never too late to share. You KNOW that we always love to see your work. You can still post them in our Facebook Community, or share them on Instagram (we are @counterfeitkitchallenge or tag us using #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcjuly2023).
